Hdmi Splitter 2 Port

HDMI Splitter 2 Port

This 2-port HDMI splitter takes one HDMI source and sends the same picture and sound to two displays at the same time. It is a distribution device, not a switch and not a display extender: both screens show an identical mirrored image, which is exactly what is needed when a presentation, a match broadcast or a signage feed has to appear in two places at once. The splitter supports 4K resolution at 60 Hz, with backward compatibility for 1080p and 720p sources and displays.

Key features

• 1 HDMI input and 2 HDMI outputs for mirrored dual-display output
• Supports 4K Ultra HD at 60 Hz
• Backward compatible with 1080p and 720p
• HDCP 2.2 support for protected content sources
• Metal housing for heat dissipation and shielding
• Powered by a 5 V DC adapter for stable signal distribution
• Plug and play operation with no drivers or software

Mirroring, explained

A splitter answers a specific question: how do I show this one source on two screens? Connect a laptop, media player, set-top box, games console or Blu-ray player to the input, connect two TVs, monitors or projectors to the outputs, and both displays receive the same signal simultaneously. It does not create an extended desktop across two screens, and it does not select between sources; those jobs belong to graphics hardware and HDMI switches respectively. Common uses include mirroring a laptop to a projector and a confidence monitor in a meeting room, showing the same broadcast in two rooms, feeding a capture device alongside a main gaming display, and running the same digital signage content on paired retail screens.

Resolution and content protection

The splitter is rated for 4K Ultra HD at 60 Hz, so a 4K source feeding two 4K displays keeps its resolution and refresh rate on both screens, and lower-resolution 1080p and 720p equipment continues to work through the same unit. HDCP 2.2 support means copy-protected sources such as streaming boxes and Blu-ray players can pass their content through the splitter to the displays, which is the point where basic unpowered splitters most often fail. When the two connected displays have different capabilities, the source can only send a format both displays accept, so pairing displays of similar resolution gives the most predictable result.

Build and setup

The metal housing dissipates heat during long sessions and shields the electronics better than a plastic shell, which suits presentation and signage setups that stay powered for hours. The unit is compact at approximately 8.5 x 5.5 x 2 cm, so it sits unobtrusively behind a display or inside a rack. Setup is a matter of connections and power: HDMI cable from the source to the input, HDMI cables from the outputs to the two displays, then the included 5 V DC adapter, which powers the active distribution so both outputs receive a properly driven signal. No drivers, software or configuration are involved.
