Allen & Heath Qu-24 Digital Mixing Console
Allen & Heath Qu-24 is a digital console with 24 recallable AnalogiQ microphone preamps and 25 motorised faders. It combines hands-on live mixing with onboard processing, scene recall and USB recording facilities for bands, venues and installed systems. Why Choose Allen & Heath Qu-24? The Qu-24 is part of the original Qu generation. Its dSNAKE expansion and 48 kHz workflow should be considered separately from the newer Qu-5 platform. Plan local inputs, remote audio and recording needs around the actual console rather than treating every Qu model as interchangeable. Key Features – 24 local microphone preamps: connect a substantial band input list. – 25 motorised faders: reflect recalled levels and selected layers. – Onboard processing and effects: handle common channel and mix tasks. – USB recording and dSNAKE: support recording and compatible remote audio. Best Suited For
Live performances, installed sound and engineers who need processing, routing and repeatable show setups. Setup and Connection Guide
Prepare a channel list and patch local sockets, remote inputs and playback sources deliberately. Store a known starting scene and review what scene recall will change. Set preamp gain at performance level, leave headroom and test monitor mixes separately. Confirm firmware, computer-driver and remote-I/O compatibility when building a recording or expansion system. Frequently Asked Questions
Does Qu-Drive record as many tracks as the computer interface? These are separate recording paths with different limits. Check the Qu reference guide for the selected mode and firmware, rather than assuming direct USB-drive recording matches the computer interface channel count. Does a larger channel count mean more local sockets? Not necessarily. Digital processing channels, physical microphone inputs and USB channels are separate counts. Check all three against the intended stage and recording setup. Does the mixer power passive speakers? No. Its line-level outputs normally feed powered loudspeakers, amplifiers or suitable processors. Match output level, cabling and the rest of the PA rather than treating the console as a speaker amplifier. Technical Specifications Specification
