Belkin 3-Outlet Power Strip, 1.5 Metre

Belkin 3-Outlet Power Strip 1.5 Metre

The Belkin 3-Outlet Power Strip turns one wall socket into three mains outlets, on a 1.5 metre cable that lets you place those outlets where the equipment actually is: on the desk instead of behind it, or inside the AV cabinet instead of outside it. It is a simple, practical piece of power organisation from a brand long associated with connectivity accessories, intended for home offices, study desks and entertainment setups that have outgrown the sockets on the wall.

Key features

• 3 mains outlets from a single wall connection
• 1.5 m cable for flexible placement on or under a desk
• Suits home office, study and AV cabinet setups
• Keeps chargers and adapters together in one place
• From Belkin, an established accessories brand
• Total load is governed by the rating printed on the supplied unit

Three outlets where you need them

Wall sockets rarely sit where equipment ends up. A monitor, a laptop charger and a desk lamp at a workstation, or a TV, a streaming box and a soundbar in a cabinet, quickly exceed the two sockets most rooms provide at the point of use. This strip covers that shortfall with three outlets in one place. Plan around the plugs themselves, not just the count: large adapters and chargers take more room than plain plugs, so arrange the bulkiest item first and check that every plug seats fully before switching on.

Placement, cable routing and everyday use

The 1.5 metre cable is long enough to bring the strip from a low wall socket up onto a desk or across the back of a cabinet, and short enough to stay manageable. Rest the strip on a dry, ventilated surface where its plug and cable are not trapped by furniture, drawers or doors. Keep the cable clear of sharp edges, chair castors and foot traffic. A strip that sits visibly and accessibly is also safer: you can see what is connected, reach the wall socket to switch everything off, and spot a damaged cable or a loose plug during normal use rather than months later.

Load safety: read the rating on the unit

Three outlets share one combined electrical limit; the outlet count does not multiply the power available. The exact total rating for this strip is the figure printed on the supplied unit, so read that label before connecting equipment and keep the sum of everything plugged in within it. High-draw appliances such as heaters, kettles and irons consume a large share of any strip’s limit and are best run from a wall socket directly. Never daisy-chain one extension strip into another, and never use a strip with a damaged cable or plug. This listing does not state a surge or joule rating for this unit, so treat any protection figure as unconfirmed until you have read it on the product itself.

What a power strip does not do

A power strip distributes mains power; it does not store it. If the mains fails, connected equipment switches off, so anything that must keep running needs a UPS chosen for that job. A strip is also not a voltage stabiliser and does not correct a supply that runs consistently high or low. Understanding those limits helps you place this Belkin strip correctly in a setup: as the tidy, reachable point where everyday electronics connect, with specialised protection or backup equipment added separately where the system genuinely needs it.

For desks and AV cabinets short of sockets, the Belkin 3-Outlet Power Strip with its 1.5 metre cable is a straightforward, sensibly sized answer.
