MX 3866 3-Pin 2-Way Universal Socket

MX 3866 3-Pin 2-Way Universal Socket

The MX 3866 is a compact, cordless two-way socket adapter that plugs directly into a wall outlet and provides two universal three-pin sockets from a single point. An on/off switch controls both outlets together, and child-safety shutters cover the socket openings. The universal sockets accept Indian, US, and European plug styles, which makes the 3866 a useful everyday adapter at home, in the office, and in studios where equipment arrives with different plug types and wall points are limited.

Key features

• Two universal three-pin sockets from one wall outlet
• Cordless plug-in design with no trailing lead
• Master on/off switch controlling both outlets
• Child-safety shutters on the socket openings
• Accepts Indian, US, and European plug styles per the listing
• Compact body that sits close to the wall

Practical power at desks, racks, and workstations

Many workspaces run out of wall sockets long before they run out of equipment. Chargers, lamps, small audio devices, and power supplies for everyday electronics all compete for the same two or three outlets. A plug-in two-way adapter like the MX 3866 answers that problem without the loose cable of a trailing extension board: it sits directly on the outlet, keeps the connection point at the wall, and leaves the floor and desk surface clear. In a small studio or media corner it can serve the low-power convenience loads around the main equipment, while in a bedroom or office it handles the cluster of chargers and lamps that gathers near a single socket.

The switch and shutter details

The master switch is the feature most users end up valuing daily. One action cuts power to both connected devices, which is convenient for chargers and standby loads that would otherwise stay energised overnight, and it removes the need to pull plugs in and out repeatedly, reducing wear on both the adapter and the wall socket. The child-safety shutters close off the live openings until a plug is inserted, a sensible precaution in homes and in any space children visit. Because the sockets are universal in style, the same adapter can serve a locally bought appliance and an imported device with a different plug shape, without a drawer full of separate travel adapters.

Use and care notes

As with any multi-way adapter, treat it as a convenience outlet for suitable everyday loads rather than a substitute for a properly wired additional socket. The listing does not publish a current or wattage rating for this model, so heavy continuous loads should be connected directly to a wall outlet sized for them, and users should check the rating marked on the supplied unit before use. Push the adapter fully home in the wall socket, avoid stacking further adapters on top of it, and switch off before unplugging devices. Kept within those sensible limits, the MX 3866 is a tidy, switchable way to double a power point.

Compact, switchable, and shutter-protected, the MX 3866 two-way universal socket is a simple solution for everyday power sharing at home, at work, and around AV setups.
