BenQ GE2490 24-Inch Monitor

BenQ GE2490 24-Inch Monitor

The BenQ GE2490 is a 24-inch class monitor for everyday work, study and entertainment, built on the specification of BenQ’s well-established GW2490 family: a 23.8-inch Full HD IPS panel, a 100 Hz refresh rate and the Eye-Care technology the GW series is known for. At this size, 1920 x 1080 resolution gives sharp, readable text at standard scaling, while the IPS panel keeps colour and contrast consistent across wide 178-degree viewing angles. It is a sensible centre screen for a home office desk, a study setup or a compact workstation where space is limited but screen quality still matters.

Eye comfort is central to the design. Brightness Intelligence Gen2 adjusts brightness and colour temperature automatically as the light in the room changes, Flicker-Free operation removes tiring screen pulsing, and Low Blue Light Plus trims harmful blue light without flattening colour. The display carries Eyesafe 2.0 certification and adds practical picture modes: ePaper for long documents, Coding for dark editor themes, a Colour Weakness mode and standard modes for video and general work. A 100 Hz refresh rate with 5 ms response makes scrolling, presentations and casual video smoother than a conventional 60 Hz office screen.

Picture quality for work and media

The combination of an IPS panel, anti-glare coating and 99 percent sRGB coverage suits the mixed diet of a modern desk: documents and spreadsheets in the morning, design previews and photographs during the day, streamed video in the evening. Colours stay accurate enough for everyday photo and content work, and the wide viewing angles mean a colleague standing beside you sees the same image you do. VESA MediaSync support helps video sources play smoothly. Buyers needing a calibrated wide-gamut panel for professional colour grading, or a 144 Hz-plus panel for competitive gaming, need a different class of monitor; for general use this panel is balanced and capable.

Connections, audio and mounting

Dual HDMI inputs plus DisplayPort cover a work laptop, a desktop and a streaming device or console without cable swapping, and the built-in speakers remove the need for separate desk speakers for calls and video. The stand tilts from minus 5 to plus 20 degrees for a comfortable viewing angle, and the VESA 100 x 100 mm pattern allows a wall mount or monitor arm, which also makes tidy dual-screen setups practical thanks to the slim bezels. After connecting, set the computer output to 1920 x 1080 at 100 Hz, because some systems start at 60 Hz by default.

Who it suits

Choose the GE2490 if you want a compact, comfortable Full HD screen for office work, online classes, coding, browsing and entertainment, with speakers and flexible inputs included. Check the model label on the supplied unit on delivery, as with any monitor purchase, and match it to the connection you plan to use.
