Edifier SS03 Bookshelf Speaker Stands (Pair)

The SS03 is Edifier’s dedicated stand for its flagship S-series bookshelf speakers, designed and sized for the S3000MKII and S3000 Pro. Bookshelf speakers only deliver their designed frequency balance and stereo imaging when the tweeters sit at ear height relative to the listening position, and that is precisely the job these stands do: each one raises a speaker 600 mm off the floor, placing it correctly for a seated listener without relying on whatever furniture happens to be nearby.

The stands are built entirely from wood, with thick panels chosen for mass and rigidity. A pair weighs 15.5 kg, and that weight works in the listener’s favour: a heavy, inert stand resists the vibration a powerful bookshelf speaker produces, keeping energy in the music rather than in buzzing shelves or resonant tabletops. The wide base plate, measuring 365 by 300 mm, gives each speaker a stable footprint on the floor.

Key Features

The top mount plate measures 230 by 190 mm and is sized to support the S3000MKII and S3000 Pro cabinets securely. The 600 mm stand height matches typical seated ear level for sofa and desk-chair listening positions, which is where a bookshelf speaker’s tweeter is designed to point. Edifier’s own placement guidance applies once the speakers are on the stands: keep 20 to 50 cm between the rear bass reflex port and the wall, position the two speakers and the listening seat as an equilateral triangle, and toe the speakers in slightly to sharpen the stereo image.

Why Stands Change the Sound

Placing bookshelf speakers on a shared surface with other equipment, or at the wrong height, costs real performance. A surface couples to the cabinet and adds its own resonance to the bass, while speakers sitting too low fire their high frequencies at the listener’s chest instead of their ears, dulling detail and collapsing the soundstage. A dedicated stand decouples the speaker from room furniture, sets the correct listening axis and frees up placement: the speakers can be positioned for acoustics rather than for whatever shelf space exists. For full-size powered speakers like the S3000 series, which carry serious amplification and output, that stable, correctly aimed foundation is the difference between hearing what the speakers can do and hearing a compromised version of it.

Compatibility and Setup

The SS03 pair is made for the Edifier S3000MKII and S3000 Pro, and also suits other bookshelf speakers whose base fits within the 230 by 190 mm mount plate. They are sold as a pair, finished to match the S-series speakers they were designed alongside, and intended for home stereo, desktop and studio-style listening rooms.
