The JBL Tune Beam 2 is a true wireless in-ear headphone with a stick-style bud shape that seals in the ear canal for both fit and noise cancelling. Adaptive Noise Cancelling listens to the world around you and adjusts, while a 10 mm dynamic driver in each bud delivers JBL Pure Bass Sound, with JBL Spatial Sound available for a wider, more open presentation on music and video. Six microphones across the pair handle calls and the cancelling system.

Battery life is generous for the size: up to 12 hours of music from the buds with cancelling off, or 10 hours with it on, and the charging case adds up to 36 more hours, for a maximum total of 48 hours. An IP54 rating protects the buds against dust and water splashes, covering workouts and wet-weather commutes.

Adaptive Noise Cancelling continuously works against the noise of buses, trains, offices and streets, so your music stays clear at sensible volumes. Smart Ambient gives you the other half of control. Ambient Aware lets a measured amount of outside sound through for awareness at stations and on roads. TalkThru lowers the music and lifts voices for a quick conversation. VoiceAware lets you hear your own voice during calls.

Sound, fit and the app

The 10 mm drivers cover 20 Hz to 20 kHz with 16 ohm impedance and 100 dB sensitivity, an easy load for any phone. The sealed in-ear fit does much of the passive isolation work, and three sizes of ear tips are included so you can find the seal that gives the bass its full weight. The JBL Headphones app adds a customisable equaliser and Personi-Fi style personalisation, ambient sound controls and firmware updates.

Battery, calls and daily use

Talk time runs up to 6 hours with cancelling off and 5 hours with it on. A full charge of the case takes about 2 hours over USB-C, and the 10-minute speed charge returning up to 3 hours of playback rescues most flat-battery moments. Each bud weighs 5.2 g, light enough to forget during long wear, and the case weighs 42 g. Multi-point Bluetooth 5.3 keeps two devices connected, so a laptop video and a phone call can share the buds without re-pairing. Touch controls manage playback, calls and ambient modes from the buds themselves.

Built for movement

IP54 means the buds shrug off dust ingress and splashing water from any direction: gym sessions, runs and rainy platform waits are all within brief. The secure in-ear seal that powers the bass and cancelling also keeps the buds seated while you move,.
