JBL Live 780NC Headphones

JBL Live 780NC Headphones

The JBL Live 780NC are wireless over-ear headphones with True Adaptive Noise Cancelling 2.0, a 40mm driver and battery life measured in days rather than hours: up to 80 hours with noise cancelling off and 50 hours with it on. They are built for people who wear headphones through the working day and beyond — commuters, hybrid workers and frequent flyers — with multipoint Bluetooth 6.0, four microphones for clear calls, and app-based sound personalisation through the JBL Headphones app. The foldable design packs flat into the included pouch, and the black finish keeps the look professional.

Noise cancelling that adapts

True Adaptive Noise Cancelling 2.0 continuously monitors ambient sound and adjusts the cancellation level to match, so an office, a train and a departure lounge each get the amount of quiet they need without manual fiddling. When you do need to hear the world, Ambient Aware lets outside sound in at a controlled level, and TalkThru drops the music and lifts voices so you can hold a conversation without removing the headphones. Voice Aware lets you hear your own voice during calls, which keeps you from raising your voice on a quiet train.

Battery and charging

The headline figure is stamina: 80 hours of music with ANC off, 50 hours with ANC on, and up to 33 hours of talk time. A full charge from empty takes about 2 hours over USB-C. If you are heading out the door with a flat battery, the speed charge adds roughly 4 hours of playback from a 5-minute top-up. For most users that adds up to one or two charges a month rather than one every few days.

Calls, app and everyday use

Four built-in microphones handle calls and voice assistants, and multipoint connection keeps two devices paired at once, so a video call on the laptop and a phone call can each take over without re-pairing. In the JBL Headphones app you can adjust the EQ, set the ANC behaviour and use JBL Spatial Sound for a wider stage on films and games. Touch and button controls on the earcups manage playback and calls. If the battery ever runs flat mid-journey, the included USB-C to 3.5mm cable keeps you listening wired. At 260g with soft over-ear cushions, the Live 780NC is light enough for all-day wear.

For buyers who want effective adaptive noise cancelling, exceptional battery life and painless switching between work and phone, the JBL Live 780NC covers the brief in a single, foldable package.
