JBL Tune 520C USB-C Wired On-Ear Headphones (Blue)

JBL Tune 520C USB-C Wired On-Ear Headphones (Blue)

The JBL Tune 520C is a wired on-ear headphone for the USB-C era: as phones drop the 3.5 mm jack, this plugs straight into the USB-C port of phones, tablets, laptops and gaming handhelds and carries digital audio to its built-in DSP, which supports Hi-Res playback up to 96 kHz / 24-bit. The 32 mm dynamic drivers deliver JBL Pure Bass Sound across an unusually wide 10 Hz to 40 kHz response.

An inline three-button remote with microphone handles calls, playback and volume, and switches between three EQ presets: Default for balanced sound, Bass for extra low-end energy, and Vocal for clearer midrange. The flat cable resists tangling, the reinforced connector is built for daily bag abuse, and at 150 g with padded ear cups the 520C folds flat and disappears into a pocket or pouch.

Why wired USB-C still makes sense

A wired digital connection has no battery to die, no codec compression beyond what the DSP is fed, and no pairing ritual: plug in and it works, on a plane, in an exam-hall bag, or on a work laptop where Bluetooth is disabled. The DAC inside the headphone also means sound quality no longer depends on the phone maker’s choices, which vary wildly; every device gets the same tuned output.

Where it fits

Students, commuters and office workers with USB-C phones and laptops, and anyone who wants a reliable spare headphone that never needs charging. Check that your device supports USB-C audio output, as JBL advises. The full specification is in the Additional Information table on this page.
