The JLab Go Work is a wireless on-ear headset in black, designed from the start for voice calls rather than adapted from a music headphone. A rotating boom microphone places a 4015 MEMS microphone close to the mouth, and JLab’s C3 Calling uses dual microphones: one picks up the voice while the other works to remove environmental sound around the wearer, so speech stays clear over keyboard noise, room sound and household activity. Behind the boom, 40 mm dynamic drivers with neodymium magnets handle the listening side, rated from 20 Hz to 20,000 Hz with a 32 ohm impedance.

Battery life is the second headline figure: over 45 hours of playtime from the 500 mAh lithium polymer battery, with a full charge taking about 2 hours over USB-C and standby rated at 470 hours. Bluetooth multipoint keeps the headset connected to two devices at once, for example a laptop and a phone, and moves between them as calls arrive without re-pairing.

Why a Boom Microphone Sounds Clearer

Microphone distance decides call quality more than any processing that follows. A laptop or earbud microphone sits far from the mouth and captures the whole room at a similar level to the voice; a boom microphone sits a few centimetres away, so the voice arrives far louder than everything else before noise cancelling is applied. The C3 dual-microphone system then works on the surrounding sound the second microphone hears. Rotating the boom up out of the way switches the headset to listening-only use, and the mute state is never a guess: a red LED at the end of the boom shows when mute is active.

Controls and Working Day Comfort

Multifunction buttons on the earcup cover play and pause, answering and rejecting calls, volume, track control and mute, plus a choice between the Work and Music EQ settings, the first tuned for voice and the second for listening between calls. The on-ear design uses Cloud Foam cushioned earcups and weighs 170 g, light enough to wear across a full day of meetings. If the battery does run out, the included USB-C to 3.5 mm AUX cable switches the Go Work to wired use, and Bluetooth 5.0 with AAC and SBC codecs covers the wireless side over a range of 30 feet or more.
