Sennheiser HD 450BT Wireless Headphones (White)

Sennheiser HD 450BT Wireless Headphones White

The Sennheiser HD 450BT in white is a closed-back, over-ear wireless headphone that adds active noise cancellation to a simple brief: balanced Sennheiser sound, long battery life and a foldable design that travels well. With up to 30 hours of playback with noise cancellation active, it covers a week of commuting or a long-haul trip and back on a single charge, and it keeps playing over a cable when the battery is empty.

Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity includes aptX Low Latency support, which keeps dialogue and action in sync when watching video on compatible devices, alongside AAC and SBC. Physical buttons on the earcup handle playback, volume and calls without needing to reach for the phone, and a dedicated button summons the voice assistant.

Noise cancellation for real journeys

The HD 450BT’s active cancellation targets the low, constant noise of aircraft engines, train running gear and office air handling. Combined with the passive isolation of closed earcups and well-sealed cushions, it lowers the background enough that music and podcasts stay clear at moderate volume. That matters on long journeys, where listening louder to overcome noise is what makes travel listening fatiguing.

Sound character

Sennheiser tunes this headphone for balance rather than exaggeration: bass is present and controlled, mids keep voices natural, and treble stays detailed without sharpness. The frequency response runs from 18 Hz to 22 kHz. The Smart Control app adds an equaliser for listeners who want to adjust that balance, plus a podcast mode that emphasises speech clarity. For films and games, aptX Low Latency on supported sources removes the lip-sync delay that standard Bluetooth can introduce.

Comfort, build and travel

At 238 g, the HD 450BT is light enough for long sessions, with padded earcups and headband sized for over-ear wear. The earcups fold flat and the headband folds in, so the headphone slips into a bag without dominating it. The white finish stands apart from the usual black travel headphones and pairs with the silver-grey accents of this colourway. Controls are real buttons, easy to find by touch with gloves or in the dark.

Calls and everyday use

Built-in microphones handle calls and voice assistant requests, and multipoint-free simplicity keeps pairing predictable: connect, and it stays connected. USB-C charging means the same cable as most current phones tops it up, and if the battery does run flat mid-journey, the included cable switches it to wired mode with any 3.5 mm source.

For travellers and commuters who want effective noise cancellation, a month of typical use between charges and sound that stays true to the Sennheiser name, the HD 450BT in white is a strong, sensible pick.
