Ahuja BTA-660M Portable PA Speaker, 40W, 2 Wireless Handheld Microphones, Bluetooth, Rechargeable Battery And Trolley, Black

Ahuja BTA-660M Portable PA Speaker

The Ahuja BTA-660M is a portable PA amplifier set built into a moulded cabinet on a trolley, so a complete speech and music system rolls to wherever it is needed and works the moment it is switched on. Ahuja rates the bi-amplified output at 40 W maximum, driving a built-in 203 mm low-frequency speaker and a high-frequency driver. Two wireless handheld microphones are included, alongside wired microphone inputs, music playback from Bluetooth, USB and SD or MMC media, and a rechargeable battery.

Speech and music in one cabinet

The BTA-660M covers speech and music from a single cabinet. Separate level controls for each wireless microphone let two voices be balanced against each other, while the tone controls, rated at plus or minus 5 dB at 100 Hz and 10 kHz, shape the sound for the room. A digital echo effect adds presence to announcements and singing, and the first microphone input has selectable priority, so an announcement can take precedence over music and other inputs when something important needs to be said.

Inputs and media playback

Two wired microphone inputs, each rated at 4 mV into 4.7 kohms, accept standard dynamic microphones, and there are aux and music inputs, each rated at 100 mV into 47 kohms, for a phone, laptop or media player. Note that the second microphone input and the aux input share a path and cannot be used as separate simultaneous inputs. The built-in MP3 player handles Bluetooth streaming, USB drives and SD or MMC cards, can record to media, and is operated by remote control, so playback can be managed from the front of the room rather than from beside the cabinet. A preamp output allows the mix to feed a further amplifier when a larger system is needed.

Battery power and transport

The system operates on AC mains at 220 to 240 V, on an external 12 V car battery, or on its built-in 12 V 7 Ah rechargeable battery. LED indications show low battery, charging and output clipping, and an automatic cut-off protects the battery against deep discharge; Ahuja advises charging the internal battery with the unit switched off. The cabinet measures 325 x 550 x 280 mm and weighs 14.3 kg, and the retractable trolley and wheels mean one person can move it between classrooms, halls and outdoor gathering points without a separate cart or stand.

The wireless microphones

Each included handheld transmitter has a maximum RF output power of 10 mW, a frequency response of 50 Hz to 15 kHz and runs on two AA pencil cells giving 3 V. The wireless range is over 20 metres in free space with line of sight, which covers a classroom, a small hall or a community event. Each transmitter is 52 mm in diameter and 242 mm long and weighs 140 g without batteries, light enough for long sessions and for speakers who are not used to holding a microphone.

Choose the BTA-660M if you need a self-contained PA that travels: two wireless microphones, wired inputs, media playback and battery operation in one wheeled cabinet, ready for teaching, training, worship, sports days and community announcements without a separate mixer, amplifier or speaker stack.
