Ahuja CMC-5100 Chairman Unit — CM-5000 Conference System

The Ahuja CMC-5100 is the chairman unit of Ahuja’s CM-5000 conference system — the control position from which a chairperson runs a meeting. It combines a gooseneck microphone, a built-in loudspeaker, headphone output and the system’s defining chairman controls: a TALK switch for speaking, and a PRIORITY switch that sounds a chime and mutes the delegate microphones so the chair can restore order or make an announcement.

The CM-5000 is a wired conference system built around the CMA-5400 central mixer amplifier, with CMC-5100 chairman units and CMD-5200 delegate units daisy-chained on interconnecting cables. How the chair runs the meeting

Each participant speaks through their unit’s microphone and hears the meeting through its loudspeaker or headphones. The chairman’s unit adds authority: press PRIORITY and a chime draws attention while every delegate microphone is muted, so announcements, rulings and closings are heard cleanly. The automatic switch-off returns a microphone to standby if it is left open, keeping the system quiet between contributions.
