Product details
Ahuja AWM-490V2: Affordable Dual VHF Wireless Microphone System
An affordable VHF wireless system with two microphones and a sensitive dual-channel receiver, with coverage of over 150 feet in ideal conditions.
Built for Stages, Auditoriums and Seminar Halls
Many venues need two wireless microphones that work reliably without a high price. A simple VHF system covers most PA needs.
What It Is
The Ahuja AWM-490V2 is a VHF wireless microphone system consisting of two wireless microphones and a sensitive dual-channel non-diversity receiver. It provides coverage of more than 150 feet under ideal working conditions.
Key Features
- Two wireless microphones: Quartz-locked VHF high band on separate frequencies.
- Long coverage: More than 150 feet in ideal conditions.
- Three-position switch: Audio on, audio mute and off.
- Separate and mixed outputs: OUT 1, OUT 2 and mixed OUT 1+2.
- Simple power: 9 V DC adaptor for the receiver; 9 V battery for each microphone.
- Telescopic antennas: Two antennas on the receiver.
Why the Ahuja AWM-490V2 Stands Out
The receiver runs from a 9 V DC adaptor supplied with the system and each microphone uses a 9 V dry battery. Ahuja lists the AWM-490V2 as ideal for PA applications, stages, auditoriums, seminar halls and places of worship. Test the system before the audience arrives by walking around the full coverage area while someone speaks, and listen for dropouts. Keep the microphones switched off when not in use, store them in a dry place, and wipe the grille after each event so the sound stays clear. If you use more than one wireless system in the same venue, check that their frequencies do not overlap.
Using a Wireless Microphone System
Place the receiver in clear view of the performers, away from metal racks and other electronics, with the antennas upright. Switch on the receiver first, then the microphones, and set the level so that loud passages do not distort. Check the operating frequency of your kit before connecting, and keep spare batteries or a charged set ready so a long event never stops mid-speech.
