The Godox VDS-M1 is a multipattern shotgun microphone for cameras and mobile production that does something ordinary shotguns cannot: it switches its pickup pattern. Why pattern switching matters

A fixed shotgun is a specialist: superb at isolating a voice in front of the camera, poor at everything beside and behind it.
