Audio-Technica ATW-13F AT-One Handheld Wireless Microphone System

Audio-Technica ATW-13F AT-One Handheld Wireless Microphone System

The Audio-Technica ATW-13F is the handheld configuration of the AT-One UHF wireless series: an ATW-RC13 receiver paired with the ATW-T3F handheld transmitter, whose cardioid condenser capsule is voiced for speech and presentation. It is a working presenter’s system — for classrooms, conference rooms, houses of worship and event hosts — with a simple channel plan and the practical details (AA batteries, balanced output, rack-friendly receiver) that installed and mobile users actually need.

Key features

• Complete UHF handheld wireless system: receiver plus handheld transmitter
• ATW-T3F transmitter with cardioid condenser capsule for clear speech
• Two groups of four selectable frequencies in the AT-One channel plan
• Balanced XLR and unbalanced 6.3 mm audio outputs on the receiver
• Transmitter runs on two AA batteries
• Receiver display with channel and status indication
• Detachable antennas and rack-mount option for installed systems

A channel plan a presenter can run

The AT-One series organises its frequencies into two groups of four, which keeps channel selection understandable: pick a free channel in the group, set receiver and transmitter to match, and work. That structure suits venues where the operator is a teacher or event host rather than an RF engineer, and multiple systems can be combined within the plan for panels and multi-speaker formats.

The condenser handheld

Most budget handheld transmitters use a dynamic capsule; the ATW-T3F’s condenser element captures speech with more detail and air, which matters when the microphone passes between quiet and confident speakers. The cardioid pattern focuses on the voice in front of it and rejects room noise and feedback paths from behind.

Running costs and outputs

Two AA batteries per session is as cheap and available as wireless power gets — spares live in any drawer. The receiver offers both a balanced XLR output for mixers and installed systems and a 6.3 mm unbalanced output for portable PA inputs, so the same system serves the hall and the road.

Installed or on the road

In a fixed installation the ATW-RC13 receiver rack-mounts alongside the mixer, its antennas positioned for the room, and the system becomes part of the building: switch on, select the channel, hand over the microphone. For mobile presenters the same receiver travels in a small case and sets up on any PA with an XLR or jack input. Either way the operating pattern stays identical, which is what presenters moving between venues need. Add Audio-Technica’s AT-One family compatibility and the system can grow into multi-channel setups as events expand.

For institutions, the economics hold up over years of daily use: AA cells instead of proprietary packs, a receiver that survives rack life, and a transmitter built to be handed to strangers — the unglamorous qualities that decide whether a wireless system is still in service five years on.

Choose the ATW-13F when one presenter needs a dependable handheld wireless microphone: a clear condenser voice, a manageable channel plan and Audio-Technica’s installed-sound build quality.
