Beyerdynamic TG V70 S Hypercardioid Dynamic Microphone

Beyerdynamic TG V70 S Dynamic Vocal Microphone

The Beyerdynamic TG V70 S is a professional dynamic vocal microphone for the stage, built in Germany and voiced for singers who need their voice to stay clear and present through a loud band mix. Its hypercardioid capsule concentrates on the sound directly in front of it and rejects the monitors, instruments and room noise arriving from the sides and rear, which is exactly the behaviour a live vocal microphone needs when stage volume climbs.

Key features

• Dynamic moving-coil capsule voiced for live vocals
• Hypercardioid pickup pattern for strong off-axis rejection and feedback resistance
• Frequency response of 25Hz to 18,000Hz with a presence lift for vocal clarity
• Lockable on/off switch for fixed installations and house systems
• Internal shock mounting reduces handling noise
• Rugged metal housing made in Germany

On stage

The presence rise in the upper midrange helps a voice cut through guitars and keys without the engineer reaching for aggressive EQ, while the proximity effect stays controlled so close-miked vocals do not turn boomy. The tight hypercardioid pattern gives monitor engineers more gain before feedback, and it keeps bleed from drums and amps out of the vocal channel, which makes both the house mix and any in-ear mix cleaner.

Built for touring use

Beyerdynamic builds the TG V70 S with a robust metal body and a shock-mounted capsule, so it shrugs off the knocks of load-ins, rehearsals and nightly use. The switch can be locked in the on position, a small but valuable detail for venues and rental companies where a singer accidentally muting their own microphone mid-set is a real problem.

Where it fits

As a dynamic microphone it needs no phantom power and connects over standard XLR to any mixer, stage box or interface. It suits lead and backing vocalists, houses of worship, rehearsal rooms and rental stock, and it doubles comfortably as a speech microphone for presenters who work close to the capsule.

If your priority is a dependable, German-made vocal microphone that stays intelligible at real stage volumes, the TG V70 S is built precisely for that job.

In the rehearsal room and on record

Although it is voiced for the stage, the TG V70 S is equally at home in rehearsal rooms and small project studios. Dynamic microphones with tight patterns are forgiving of untreated spaces, and the hypercardioid capsule picks up far less of a reflective room than a condenser would, so vocal takes recorded at home stay usable. Presenters, podcasters who record in noisy environments, and teachers running hybrid sessions will also appreciate a microphone that focuses on the voice in front of it and needs nothing more than an XLR input and a stand or handheld grip to work.
