FIFINE BM88 Microphone Boom Arm Stand (Black)

FIFINE BM88 Microphone Boom Arm Stand (Black)

The FIFINE BM88 is a low-profile microphone boom arm: an all-metal desk arm designed to run low across the desk, below the shoulder and camera line, instead of towering over the workspace the way a tall scissor arm does. For streamers and video callers that is the whole point — the microphone floats in front of your mouth while the arm itself stays out of the camera frame and out of your eyeline to the monitor. This listing is the Black finish.

The arm clamps to the desk edge, extends up to 706 mm (27.8 inches) horizontally, and holds microphones and accessories up to 1.5 kg. A rotatable ball head at the end sets the microphone angle, the base rotates a full 360 degrees so the mic swings in for a session and away afterwards, and hidden channels along the arm carry the microphone cable out of sight. It is built for podcasting, streaming, gaming and home-studio desks where the microphone position matters and the desk still has to work as a desk.

Why low profile changes the setup

A conventional boom arm comes over the top, and on camera it crosses the frame; at a desk it also crosses your view of the screen. The BM88’s lower arm runs just 72 mm above the desk and the upper section 157 mm, passing under a monitor’s lower edge in many setups, so the microphone arrives from below and the side. The result is a cleaner video frame, an unobstructed screen, and a desk that still reads as a workspace rather than a broadcast rig — while the microphone itself sits exactly where it should, close to your mouth, where close placement improves clarity and reduces room noise compared with a mic left sitting on the desk.

Movement, mounting and compatibility

The base rotates 360 degrees horizontally, the arm’s joints set height and reach, and the ball head angles the microphone itself, so fine position is adjusted at the mic rather than by rebuilding the arm’s pose. The C-clamp grips squared desk edges from 20 to 60 mm (0.8 to 2.4 inches) thick with a minimum 50 mm of desk depth, and needs no drilling. Microphone threads are covered by the included adapter chain — 1/4 inch to 3/8 inch and 3/8 inch to 5/8 inch — which between them fit the great majority of microphones and shock mounts; the arm itself weighs 1.3 kg.

Cable management and daily use

The microphone cable routes through channels built into the arm, opening to lay the cable in and closing over it, so the run from microphone to computer stays tidy and does not snag when the arm moves. Two Allen wrenches are included for joint tension and setup. Once clamped, daily use is a swing: pull the microphone in to record, push it aside to work, with the desk surface itself kept completely clear.

Choose the BM88 if you record, stream or take calls at a desk and want the microphone held properly — close, angled and off the desk — without a tall arm dominating the room or the camera shot.
