Shure SVX14/CVL Wireless Presenter System

Shure SVX14/CVL Wireless Presenter System

The Shure SVX14/CVL is a complete wireless presenter system that pairs the SVX1 bodypack transmitter and CVL lavalier microphone with the SVX4 diversity receiver. It is built for speakers who need their hands free and their voice clear: teachers, trainers, presenters, tour guides and officiants. The lavalier clips to a lapel or tie, the bodypack rides on a belt or in a pocket, and the receiver feeds the house system, with none of the cable management a handheld microphone demands.

Key features

• Complete system: SVX1 bodypack, CVL lavalier and SVX4 receiver
• CVL cardioid condenser lavalier for focused speech pickup
• Antenna diversity receiver for stable reception
• Up to 8 selectable frequencies per band
• Up to 4 compatible channels per band
• Working range up to 75 m line of sight in high power mode
• Switchable transmitter output: 10 mW high, 1 mW low
• Up to 10 hours of use from two AA batteries

The CVL lavalier: discreet and speech-focused

The CVL is a miniature electret condenser microphone with a cardioid pickup pattern, which favours the voice in front of it and rejects sound from the sides and rear. In a reverberant hall or a room with PA speakers nearby, that directionality means more gain before feedback and a more intelligible result for the audience. Its response is tailored for speech clarity, it weighs just 25 g, and the 1.3 m cable with a TA4F connector gives enough slack to route neatly under clothing to the bodypack.

Diversity reception that stays locked

The SVX4 receiver uses antenna diversity, continuously comparing its two antennas and using the stronger signal, which is what prevents the dropouts and swishing noises that plague single-antenna systems when a presenter moves around a room. With up to eight selectable frequencies in each band, the user can move to a clear channel if the first choice is busy, and up to four systems can run together in the same band for panel discussions and multi-presenter events.

Power modes matched to the room

The bodypack offers two RF output settings. High mode, at 10 mW, reaches up to 75 metres line of sight for larger halls and outdoor use. Low mode, at 1 mW, covers about 18 metres and stretches battery life and channel-friendliness in small rooms. Two AA batteries run the transmitter for up to ten hours, comfortably covering a full day of sessions without a mid-event change.

Setup follows the same keep-it-simple pattern: fit the batteries, clip the microphone at chest level, switch the bodypack and receiver to the same frequency, and set the receiver output level against the mixer or powered speaker it feeds. There are no menus to learn and no software to install, which matters for schools, rental inventories and venues where a different volunteer runs the system every week.

System audio performance is honest and speech-appropriate: 50 Hz to 15 kHz response, distortion below 0.5 percent and a typical dynamic range of 90 dB. For presenters who want Shure wireless behaviour without complexity, the SVX14/CVL sets up in minutes and then stays out of the way.
