AVMATRIX PTZ1271 Full HD PTZ Camera

AVMATRIX PTZ1271 Full HD PTZ Camera

The AVMATRIX PTZ1271 is a Full HD pan, tilt and zoom camera built for lecture capture, video conferencing, houses of worship, training rooms and live production, where one operator needs to frame wide room shots and tight close-ups from a single fixed camera position. It uses a 1/2.8-inch HD CMOS sensor with 2.07 effective megapixels and delivers video at up to 1920 x 1080 at 60 frames per second. The version supplied here is the 30x optical zoom model, so a speaker at the back of a hall can be framed closely without moving the camera or cropping the picture digitally.

The lens combines 30x optical zoom with 10x digital zoom, a focal length of 4.3mm to 129mm and an aperture of F1.6 to F4.7. The horizontal viewing angle runs from 65.1 degrees at the wide end down to 2.34 degrees at full telephoto, which covers everything from an establishing shot of a stage to a head-and-shoulders view of one presenter. Autofocus, auto aperture and auto electronic shutter handle changing conditions, while backlight compensation helps when a subject stands in front of a bright window or projection screen.

Picture quality in real rooms

Combined 2D and 3D digital noise reduction keeps the image clean in lower light while preserving sharpness, and the signal-to-noise ratio is rated above 55dB. Minimum illumination is 0.5 lux, and a dynamic wide dynamic range adjustment helps balance bright and dark areas in the same frame. White balance can run automatically, be set with one push, or be fixed at colour temperatures from 3000K to 7000K, and brightness, colour, saturation, contrast, sharpness and gamma are all adjustable so the camera can be matched to other cameras in the same production.

Movement, presets and control

The pan mechanism covers 170 degrees in each direction and tilt runs from minus 30 degrees to plus 90 degrees, with pan speeds up to 180 degrees per second and tilt speeds up to 80 degrees per second. A high-accuracy stepper drive keeps movement quiet and smooth, which matters in studios and places of worship. Up to 255 presets can be stored, ten of them directly from the remote controller, and control is available over RS-232 in and out with cascade support, RS-485, or over the network using VISCA over IP. A low-power sleep mode draws less than 500mW when the camera is idle.

Streaming and system integration

Alongside HDMI and 3G-SDI, the LAN port carries IP video encoded in H.264 or H.265 with RTSP, RTMP and SRT streaming, so the camera can feed a switcher, a recorder or a streaming platform directly. A 3.5mm line-level audio input accepts an external microphone or mixer feed, encoded as AAC, MP3 or G.711A alongside the video. The body measures 170 x 170 x 180.31mm and weighs 1.25kg, runs from DC 12V or PoE with maximum consumption of 12W, and suits permanent installation in classrooms, boardrooms, studios and sanctuaries where remote, repeatable camera work is needed every day.
