The Fujifilm Instax Mini SE Fun Pack pairs the Instax Mini SE instant camera in Candy Pink with Instax Mini film, so the camera can be loaded and used as soon as the pack is opened. The Mini SE is a point-and-shoot analogue instant camera: press the shutter and a credit-card-sized print ejects and develops in about 90 seconds, with no screen, no app and no editing in between. The brightness dial

Exposure on the Mini SE is set by turning the dial around the lens to one of four positions — Indoor/Night, Cloudy/Shade, Sunny and Clear Sky — matching the camera to the light before the shot is taken. Lens, flash and viewfinder

The fixed-focus 60 mm lens is built from two components and two elements with an aperture of f/12.7, and covers subjects from 0.6 metres to infinity. The shutter is fixed at 1/60 second. The built-in flash fires with every shot and adjusts its output automatically, with an effective range of about 0.6 to 2.2 metres — enough for portraits and small groups indoors and at evening events. Framing is through a 0.4x real-image viewfinder with a target spot in the centre that shows where the lens is aimed. Film ejection is automatic, and the camera switches itself off after about five minutes to save battery.

Prints and film

The Mini SE uses Fujifilm Instax Mini film, one of the most widely stocked instant films. Each print measures 86 x 54 mm overall — the size of a credit card — with a 62 x 46 mm picture area, and develops in approximately 90 seconds. The border around the image leaves room for captions and dates, and the format suits wallets, phone cases, scrapbooks, guest books and party favours. Because the Fun Pack includes film, the first pack of prints can be made immediately; replacement Instax Mini packs are standard refills.

Power and handling

The camera is powered by four AA alkaline batteries, good for approximately 200 photos, which removes charging from the routine entirely — a fresh set of standard batteries restores full power anywhere. The body weighs approximately 340 grams without batteries and film.
