Benq TH585P 1080p Dlp Gaming Projector 3500lm, Low Latency, Enhanced Game Mode, 95% REC.709, Hdmi, 3D,10w Speaker, Auto Keystone, Digital Len Shift, 15000hrs Lamp Life For Game Console

BenQ TH585P – Full HD Gaming Projection With Real Big-Screen Speed

The BenQ TH585P is a Full HD 1080p DLP projector built for living-room gaming, pairing 3,500 lumens of brightness with a low-latency game pipeline. Where a television stops at the size of its panel, the TH585P turns a wall into a screen measured in metres, with the response speed that action games, sports titles and fighting games demand from a display.

BenQ has tuned this model for two jobs at once. In game use it prioritises input response and visibility inside dark scenes; switch to a film and its colour management delivers the calibrated, cinema-leaning picture the brand is known for. A built-in 10-watt speaker, two HDMI inputs and automatic image correction keep setup simple on a coffee table, a media unit or a ceiling mount.

Why low latency matters on a big screen

Projection only works for gaming when the image keeps up with the controller. Every frame of delay between a button press and the picture is input lag, and on a slow projector it makes fast games feel detached and imprecise. The TH585P cuts that delay to 16 milliseconds at 1080p and 60 Hz, with support for 120 Hz sources, so movement stays connected to your hands. Its Game Mode also reworks dark-scene rendering, bringing shadow detail forward so opponents and obstacles hidden in dark corners stay visible instead of crushing to black.

Colour and brightness for real rooms

Most gaming happens in rooms that are never fully dark, and 3,500 lumens gives the TH585P the headroom to hold contrast and colour under normal living-room light. Colour is handled with equal care: 95 percent coverage of the Rec.709 standard and BenQ’s colour management mean films and broadcast sport look natural rather than oversaturated, close to how a calibrated television presents them. The lamp is rated for up to 15,000 hours, so years of evening sessions pass before replacement is a consideration.

Setup and connections

Two HDMI inputs let a console and a second source stay connected without cable swapping. Auto keystone corrects a trapezoidal image when the projector cannot sit perfectly square to the wall, and digital lens shift fine-tunes placement without moving the unit. The built-in 10-watt speaker covers casual play and sports viewing on its own, and an external audio system can take over whenever a bigger sound is wanted.

Who the TH585P suits

Choose the TH585P if your gaming has outgrown your television and you want cinema scale without giving up responsiveness. It suits console and PC players in living rooms and media rooms who split their time between games, sport and films, and who want one projector that handles all three without fuss.
