BenQ X3100I 4K Gaming Projector – White

BenQ X3100i 4K Gaming Projector (White)

The BenQ X3100i is the flagship of BenQ’s X-series gaming projectors, built around a 4LED light source that produces 3,300 ANSI lumens and full DCI-P3 colour. It projects a true 4K UHD image (3840 x 2160 via XPR) sized for dedicated gaming and cinema rooms, and its low-latency modes reach 4.2 ms input lag at 1080p/240 Hz. Android TV is supplied on BenQ’s QS02 dongle, and this listing is the white finish.

4LED colour and brightness

The four-LED light source adds a pumped blue LED to the usual RGB array, raising brightness while keeping colour accuracy: BenQ rates the X3100i at 100% of DCI-P3, the cinema colour space, with factory-calibrated colour accuracy. LED lifetimes of 20,000 hours in normal mode and 30,000 in eco remove lamp changes, and the 600,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio comes from LED dimming. HDR10 and HLG are supported with BenQ’s HDR game modes that preserve shadow detail.

Built for gaming

Latency is the specification gaming projectors live by, and the X3100i offers dedicated low-lag modes down to 4.2 ms at 1080p/240 Hz for competitive play and 16.7 ms at 4K/60 for story titles. Crosshair and FPS picture modes, dark-scene detail enhancement and eARC for an external sound system complete the gaming brief, while the 1.15:1 to 1.50:1 throw ratio fills a 100-inch screen from roughly three metres.

Installation optics

Unusually for a gaming projector, the X3100i carries a vertical lens shift (40% to 60%) alongside its 1.3x zoom, so the image can be aligned to a fixed screen without keystone correction and its resolution penalty. Auto and manual keystone, corner fit and focus tools are still available for less formal setups, and the lens is recessed for protection.

Picture modes for film and play

Separate tuning serves the two audiences. Cinema modes prioritise colour accuracy against the DCI-P3 master, with a factory calibration report in the box, while the game modes open up shadow detail so opponents in dark scenes stay visible, at the cost of absolute colour fidelity. An FPS mode with crosshair support, a dedicated low-latency picture profile and HDR game tuning cover the main console and PC genres, and the projector switches profiles per input, so a film source and a console keep their own settings.

Sound, streaming and connections

Two 5 W Trevolo speakers handle casual play and video; HDMI eARC and S/PDIF outputs feed external audio for serious sessions. The QS02 dongle provides Android TV with the main streaming services, and two HDMI 2.0b inputs plus USB cover local sources. The projector measures 272 x 213 x 259 mm and weighs 6.8 kg.
