Formovie V10 4K Portable Projector

Formovie V10 4K Portable Projector

The Formovie V10 is a 4K UHD home projector in a compact upright body, designed to be set up on a table or sideboard rather than permanently mounted. It combines DLP projection at 2,500 ANSI lumens with a built-in 2.1-channel sound system that includes a separate subwoofer, automatic focus and alignment, and a flagship-grade processor for streaming and gaming.

Key features

• 4K UHD resolution: 3840 x 2160, 8.3 million pixels from a DLP system
• 2,500 ANSI lumens: brightness for large images in dimmed living spaces
• 118% DCI-P3 colour gamut: wide colour with HDR10 Plus and 10-bit depth
• Built-in 2.1 audio: two 7.5 W full-range speakers plus a 15 W subwoofer, Dolby Audio
• Automatic setup: sensorless auto focus, omnidirectional auto keystone and screen alignment
• 240 Hz refresh and 12 ms latency: high-refresh gaming support through HDMI 2.1
• 4 GB memory and 64 GB storage: MT9669 processor for apps and media

Picture quality

The V10 covers 118 percent of the DCI-P3 colour gamut and supports HDR10 Plus, with 10-bit colour depth equivalent to 1.07 billion colours. MEMC motion processing smooths fast movement in sport and action scenes. The throw ratio is 1.27 to 1, and Formovie’s recommended image range is 60 to 120 inches, with some documentation quoting a wider 55 to 180-inch capability; the recommended range is the one to plan a room around. As with any projector of this brightness, the picture is at its best in a dimmed room on a flat, light surface.

Sound built in

Most portable projectors treat audio as an afterthought. The V10 instead carries two 7.5-watt full-range drivers and an independent 15-watt subwoofer, a 30-watt 2.1-channel arrangement with Dolby Audio and Formovie’s FAA sound engine. That gives dialogue and music genuine low-frequency support without an external speaker, which suits the portable use case. A 3.5 mm output and Bluetooth are available when a separate speaker or soundbar is preferred, and HDMI ARC can return audio from the projector’s own apps.

Gaming and smart features

A 240 Hz refresh rate and 12 ms low latency are quoted for gaming, with HDMI 2.1 handling the high-bandwidth connection. The MT9669 processor, 4 GB of memory and 64 GB of storage run the smart system, with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth for streaming, casting and accessories, and a Bluetooth voice remote for control. Intelligent obstacle avoidance adjusts the picture around objects on the wall, and automatic curtain or screen alignment fits the image to a screen’s edges where one is used.

Design and everyday use

The upright body measures about 200 x 200 x 210 mm and weighs 3.8 kg, finished with a wood-grain top cover and fabric detailing intended to sit visibly in a living room rather than be hidden away. Noise is quoted below 28 dB. Power consumption is up to 220 W in operation and under 0.5 W on standby. Two USB 2.0 ports, HDMI 2.1, an ARC-capable HDMI and an Ethernet port cover wired connections.

The V10 suits film, sport and gaming in a living space where a fixed installation is not wanted but a large 4K image and credible built-in sound are. Set it on a stable surface at the planned throw distance, let the automatic alignment run, and check the image size against the recommended range before fixing furniture positions.
