Edifier MS50A Tabletop Wi-fi Bluetooth V5.0 Smart Speaker 40 Watts (brown)

Edifier MS50A – A Smart Speaker That Takes Sound Seriously

The Edifier MS50A is a tabletop smart speaker for people who like the convenience of Alexa but not the thin sound most smart speakers settle for. Inside its wood-finish cabinet sits a proper two-way speaker system – a 25 W mid-bass driver and a 15 W tweeter, 40 W RMS in total – driven and tuned like a small hi-fi speaker, with dual-band Wi-Fi streaming, Bluetooth and Amazon Alexa built in.

It answers questions, runs your smart home and sets your timers, then plays music with the body and detail that voice-assistant pucks cannot approach.

Hi-fi hardware first, smart features second

Most smart speakers start with the voice assistant and fit the sound around it. Edifier started with the speaker: a two-way design with separate drivers for lows and highs, real amplifier power behind each, and a cabinet finished in wood veneer rather than plastic mesh. That hardware shows in the listening – voices in podcasts are clear and present, acoustic music has warmth and weight, and the speaker fills a bedroom, study or kitchen without straining. Alexa lives on top of that foundation, handling music requests, news, weather, alarms and smart-home control entirely hands-free.

Streaming every way you expect

On Wi-Fi, the MS50A streams directly rather than relaying through your phone, and supports AirPlay from Apple devices plus Spotify Connect and TIDAL Connect from their own apps. Bluetooth is there for everything else – a laptop, a guest’s phone, a quick YouTube session. Group it with other Alexa speakers for multiroom playback, or let it run a morning routine that reads the news, starts a playlist and adjusts the lights.

Sized and finished for real rooms

At roughly 146 mm square and 211 mm tall, the MS50A sits comfortably on a desk, bedside table or kitchen counter, and the brown wood finish suits Indian interiors far better than gadget-black plastic. Touch controls on the top handle volume and playback when you are standing next to it. There are no screens, cameras or complicated menus to manage, and firmware updates arrive over Wi-Fi, so the speaker keeps improving quietly in the background while asking very little of the person who owns it day to day.

For a bedside, desk or kitchen speaker that sounds like hi-fi and works like a smart assistant, the MS50A covers both jobs in one compact cabinet.
