Sound performance

The wood fibre cone is a DALI signature: its uneven surface structure breaks up resonances, so vocals and acoustic instruments come through with a clarity that budget speakers rarely manage. Bass reaches usefully low for the cabinet size, staying tidy rather than boomy, and the soft dome tweeter spreads treble widely, which keeps the stereo image stable when you are not sitting in the perfect centre seat. One honest note: at 83 dB sensitivity and 4 ohms, the Kupid rewards a capable amplifier, so pair it with the 40 to 120 W DALI recommends rather than the smallest receiver output you can find.

Design and build

At roughly 237 mm tall and 2.9 kg per speaker, the cabinet is small enough for real shelves yet feels properly made, with tidy vinyl wrapping, quality binding posts and drivers colour-matched to the finish. The Chilly Blue version pairs its cabinet with a matching tinted grille that attaches magnetically, so the look stays clean with the grille on or off. The rear port needs a little space behind it, so allow some clearance from the wall rather than pushing the speakers flat against it.

Setup and placement

On stands, a desk or a shelf, aim for tweeter height near ear level and a modest gap behind the rear port. The wide dispersion makes exact toe-in less critical than with many small speakers, which suits shared living spaces.
