Ahuja CS 5061T Ceiling Speakers

Ahuja CS 5061T Ceiling Speakers

The Ahuja CS-5061T is a flush-mount ceiling speaker for 100 V line public address systems, built around a 5 inch full range driver rated at 6 W RMS. It is made for background music and announcements in commercial spaces, where many speakers run from one amplifier over long cable runs. A powder-coated aluminium mesh grille and moulded plastic frame give it a neat, low-profile finish that sits quietly in modern ceilings, and power tap selection through a terminal block lets the installer set each speaker’s level to suit the room it covers.

Key features

• 5 inch full range driver in a flush-mount ceiling format
• 6 W RMS input power for 100 V line systems
• Power taps of 6, 3 and 1.5 W, selected via terminal block
• Frequency response of 60 to 15,000 Hz, with 92 dB SPL at 1 kHz (1 W / 1 m)
• Powder-coated aluminium mesh grille with moulded plastic frame
• Compact 200 mm diameter, 85 mm depth and 750 g weight

Designed for 100 V line systems

In a large building, running an ordinary low-impedance speaker cable back to the amplifier for every room is impractical. A 100 V line system solves this by distributing audio at a higher voltage through a line matching transformer in each speaker, so many speakers can share one amplifier over long, thin cable runs. The CS-5061T is built for that architecture. Its rated impedance varies with the tap chosen, at 1.6k, 3.3k or 6.6k ohms, which is how the transformer presents the speaker to the line. If your amplifier is a 100 V line PA amplifier, this is the correct class of speaker for it.

Power taps: matching level to the room

Not every space needs the same volume. A corridor or washroom needs gentle background level, a restaurant needs music that sits under conversation, and a waiting hall needs announcements that carry. The CS-5061T offers three taps on the 100 V line, 6, 3 and 1.5 W, selected at the terminal block during installation. The installer picks the tap per speaker, so one amplifier can serve quiet and lively areas at sensible levels without extra controls. When planning the system, add up the tap wattages of every speaker on the line and keep the total within the amplifier’s rated output, leaving headroom.

A flush finish that blends into interiors

Ceiling speakers are seen every day, so their appearance matters in hotels, offices, hospitals, restaurants, malls and gymnasiums, the spaces Ahuja designs this range for. The CS-5061T mounts flush, with its powder-coated aluminium mesh grille presenting a clean, durable face that resists the casual knocks and cleaning a painted plastic grille would suffer. At 200 mm in diameter and 85 mm deep, it fits standard ceiling voids, and at 750 g it places little load on the ceiling tile or board it mounts into.

Installing and commissioning the system

Ceiling work should be done by a qualified installer. The amplifier must be switched off while speakers are connected, polarity must be consistent across every speaker so they work together rather than against each other, and each speaker’s tap should be set before the ceiling is closed. After installation, walk the space and listen from the farthest seats: even, intelligible coverage at a comfortable level is the goal, and moving a tap up or down on individual speakers is the normal way to fine-tune it.

For commercial PA and background music installations on 100 V lines, the Ahuja CS-5061T combines the right electrical specification with a finish that respects the interior it serves.
