ArtSound SMART In Single Active Streaming In-Ceiling Speaker

ArtSound SMART In Single Active Streaming In-Ceiling Speaker

The ArtSound SMART In Single is an active in-ceiling speaker with its amplifier and network streamer built in, so a room gets music without a separate amplifier, receiver or visible speaker cabinets. One unit is a complete music point: it connects to the home network over Wi-Fi or wired Ethernet, receives streams through AirPlay 2 and Spotify Connect among other services, and plays through a 6-inch woofer and 1-inch tweeter powered by a 60 W built-in amplifier. Control runs through the free 4STREAM app.

The Single is exactly that: one active speaker, sold for rooms that need one music point or as the building block of a larger installation. It is not the two-speaker Smart In Set. A mono and stereo setting lets the installer configure the unit correctly for how it is actually deployed.

Key Features

• Active in-ceiling speaker with integrated 60 W amplifier and streamer
• AirPlay 2 and Spotify Connect, plus other popular streaming services
• Wi-Fi and wired Ethernet network connection
• Bluetooth 5.0 for direct local playback
• Multiroom grouping with other ArtSound Smart family products via the 4STREAM app
• 6-inch woofer and 1-inch tweeter, 55 Hz to 20 kHz frequency range

Multiroom, built room by room

Because the streaming engine is inside the speaker, a system can start with one room and grow. Additional Smart family products join the same 4STREAM app, where rooms can play independently or be grouped for whole-home playback. Ethernet gives a fixed, interference-free connection where cabling is available during a build or renovation; Wi-Fi covers retrofit rooms where it is not.

Installation notes

The speaker fits a 210 mm ceiling cut-out and needs 108 mm of depth behind the surface, with an overall diameter of 235 mm. It runs from a 24 V, 4.16 A power supply, so the supply position and cable route should be planned with the rest of the installation; wireless streaming removes the signal cable, not the power requirement. Confirm the cavity depth, including room for connectors, before cutting, and test playback before the ceiling is closed and finished.

Day-to-day control

Once installed, the speaker behaves like any other network music endpoint. A phone on the same network sees it directly in AirPlay 2 and Spotify Connect, so guests and family members can play music without learning a new system, while the 4STREAM app handles setup, grouping, source selection and volume for the whole installation. Bluetooth 5.0 covers quick local playback from a device that is not on the network. Nothing sits on a shelf, nothing needs a remote, and there is no amplifier cupboard to ventilate.

Where it works best

Kitchens, bedrooms, bathrooms, corridors, home offices and commercial spaces such as clinics, salons and small retail all suit a single discreet ceiling point for background and foreground music. Listeners who want stereo imaging in one room should plan a pair or the Set configuration instead.

For discreet installed music with proper streaming built in, the SMART In Single removes more boxes than any other single component in the chain.
