The ELAC Debut 3.0 C6.3 Centre Speaker Black Brushed is the larger centre channel of the Debut 3.0 range, and the ELAC Debut 3.0 C6.3 Centre Speaker Black Brushed is the speaker that carries most of the dialogue, on-screen action and front-stage detail in a Debut 3.0 surround system. Two 6.5-inch aramid-fiber woofers flank a 1-inch aluminium dome tweeter in a wide, low cabinet, so voices stay full and intelligible even at low late-night volume, and the sealed cabinet keeps dialogue clean by removing port noise from the most speech-critical channel in the system.
Why Choose ELAC Debut 3.0 C6.3 Centre Speaker Black Brushed?
A centre speaker is the hardest-working speaker in a home cinema, and the ELAC Debut 3.0 C6.3 Centre Speaker Black Brushed is built for that job rather than adapted from a bookshelf design. The sealed enclosure avoids the chuffing and boom that a ported centre can add to male voices, the twin woofers share the load so dynamics stay composed on loud passages, and the aluminium tweeter keeps consonants and effects crisp without turning harsh. Because the ELAC Debut 3.0 C6.3 Centre Speaker Black Brushed is voiced with the Debut 3.0 bookshelf and floorstanding models, a sound that pans across the front of the room does not change character as it passes through the centre.
Key Features
Sealed cabinet design: A sealed enclosure that eliminates port noise, which matters most on the dialogue channel.
Dual 6.5-inch aramid-fiber woofers: Two aramid-fiber woofers that share bass and midrange load for clean, composed dynamics.
1-inch aluminium dome tweeter: A stiff, light aluminium dome for crisp dialogue consonants and detailed effects.
Wide, low centre format: A 533 mm wide cabinet that sits under a television or on a stand without blocking the screen.
Internally braced MDF cabinet: CARB2-rated 16 mm MDF with internal bracing to reduce resonance and colouration.
Magnetic grille: A magnetically attached grille for a clean front with no visible fixings.
Best Suited For
The ELAC Debut 3.0 C6.3 Centre Speaker Black Brushed suits home cinema systems built around Debut 3.0 front speakers, especially in medium to large rooms where the smaller C5.3 centre would run out of headroom. It also suits mixed music and film systems where a single centre must handle both film dialogue and multichannel music cleanly. It is a passive speaker and needs an AV receiver channel; it is not a soundbar and does not include amplification.
Setup and Connection Guide
Place the ELAC Debut 3.0 C6.3 Centre Speaker Black Brushed centrally under or above the television, as close to ear height as the furniture allows, and angle it slightly toward the listening position if it sits well below ear level. Connect it to the receiver’s centre channel output with speaker cable to the 5-way binding posts, checking polarity, and run the receiver’s room calibration so the centre level matches the front left and right speakers. Because the cabinet is sealed, it can sit closer to a wall or inside a cabinet opening than a ported centre, but leave airflow around it and keep the grille on or off to taste.
Frequently Asked Questions
How is the ELAC Debut 3.0 C6.3 Centre Speaker Black Brushed different from the C5.3?
The C6.3 is the larger Debut 3.0 centre. The ELAC Debut 3.0 C6.3 Centre Speaker Black Brushed uses two 6.5-inch woofers in a 533 mm cabinet, while the C5.3 uses two 5.25-inch woofers in a narrower cabinet, so the C6.3 plays louder and fuller and matches larger Debut 3.0 front speakers better.
Why is the cabinet sealed instead of ported?
The C6.3 uses a sealed cabinet so there is no port turbulence on dialogue, and so placement inside furniture or close to a wall is less compromised. Bass below its range is handled by the subwoofer in a normal home cinema setup.
Can it be used with non-ELAC front speakers?
Yes, it will work with any AV receiver and front speakers, but it is voiced to match the Debut 3.0 range. The C6.3 gives the most seamless front soundstage when the front left and right speakers are also Debut 3.0 models.
