Apple HomePod Mini Blue MJ2C3HN/A

Apple HomePod mini (Blue, MJ2C3HN/A)

The Apple HomePod mini in Blue (MJ2C3HN/A) is Apple’s compact smart speaker: a 3.3 inch tall mesh-covered sphere that combines 360-degree audio, Siri voice control and a Thread-enabled home hub in a device small enough for a bedside table, desk or kitchen counter. This listing is the Blue finish. It is a mains-powered speaker designed for Apple households, playing music through supported services and AirPlay from iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple TV rather than acting as a conventional Bluetooth speaker.

360-degree sound from a compact sphere

HomePod mini’s audio system is built around a full-range driver powered by a neodymium magnet and two force-cancelling passive radiators, which together produce deeper bass than its size suggests. Sound exits through a custom-designed acoustic waveguide underneath the speaker, spreading it evenly in every direction so the tonal balance stays consistent wherever you sit in the room. The seamless mesh fabric is acoustically transparent and made with recycled material, and the Blue finish carries through the fabric and the tinted touch surface on top.

Computational audio and Siri

The Apple S5 chip applies computational audio continuously, analysing the music and modelling the acoustics of the drivers up to 180 times per second to optimise loudness and dynamic range. Siri is the control centre: ask for music, podcasts and radio, set timers and reminders, send messages, make calls, check the weather or control the home. Siri can recognise the voices of up to six members of the household and personalise responses for each, and requests are designed not to be associated with your Apple Account. A built-in temperature and humidity sensor lets the Home app report room conditions and drive automations.

Home hub, Thread and Intercom

HomePod mini works as a home hub, giving you remote access to HomeKit accessories and allowing automations to run when you are away. Thread networking technology is built in, providing a secure, low-power mesh for compatible accessories, and the speaker supports Matter accessories through the Home app. Intercom lets you send a voice announcement from one HomePod to others around the house, or to family members’ iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch and CarPlay. Bringing an iPhone close to the top of the speaker hands off music, podcasts or a phone call, with the U1 Ultra Wideband chip enabling the proximity interaction and on-screen controls.

Multiroom, stereo pairing and controls

Place HomePod mini speakers in several rooms and AirPlay can play the same audio everywhere or a different stream in each room. Two HomePod mini units of the same model can be set up as a stereo pair for proper left and right separation, and HomePod mini can serve as the audio output for Apple TV 4K. Day-to-day control is deliberately simple: the backlit touch surface on top handles play and pause, volume, skipping tracks and summoning Siri, while everything else runs through the Home app on iPhone or iPad. The speaker is powered by the included 20W adapter over its attached USB-C cable and needs Wi-Fi for setup and use.

For an Apple household that wants room-filling sound, a capable Siri speaker and a home hub in one small device, HomePod mini in Blue covers all three roles without taking up shelf space.
