Edifier MP120 Portable Bluetooth Speaker With 19 Hours Playback Time 8 W Rms

Edifier MP120 Portable Bluetooth Speaker – CNC Aluminium Bar With 19 Hours of Playback

Most portable speakers are plastic bricks. The MP120 takes a different shape: a slim bar machined from CNC aluminium alloy, just 26.5 mm thick, that slides into a laptop sleeve or bag pocket and disappears until you need it. Inside, a true stereo pair of drivers delivers 8 W RMS of output, and the battery runs for up to 19 hours of playback – a full weekend of listening between charges. Bluetooth streaming is joined by a TF card slot and a 3.5 mm AUX input, so it plays from practically anything, including devices with no wireless at all.

Key features

• Up to 19 hours of continuous playback on a single charge
• CNC-machined aluminium alloy body – rigid, premium and scratch-resistant
• 8 W RMS stereo output (4 W + 4 W) from a slim bar design
• Bluetooth wireless streaming from phones, tablets and laptops
• TF/microSD card slot for phone-free, offline playback
• 3.5 mm AUX input for wired sources and older devices
• Slim 170 mm wide form factor fits bags, desks and kitchen counters
• Real stereo separation, rare in speakers of this size

A metal body is an acoustic feature

The aluminium enclosure is not just about looks or durability. A speaker cabinet that flexes absorbs energy and adds its own rattly colouration, which is why thin plastic portables often sound boxy at volume. The MP120’s rigid machined shell stays quiet, letting the small drivers spend their output on music instead of on shaking their own housing. It also shrugs off the scratches, dents and flexing that daily carry inflicts, and the cool metal finish pairs naturally with modern laptops on a desk.

Sound that suits voices as much as music

With left and right drivers spaced across the bar, the MP120 produces genuine stereo width – instruments sit in places rather than in a single point, which makes a surprising difference on a desk or a bedside table. Its balanced tuning keeps vocals forward and intelligible, so podcasts, audiobooks, online classes and video calls are as convincing as playlists. Pop, acoustic and film scores are handled with clarity well beyond what the dimensions promise, at volumes right for personal listening and small rooms.

Three ways to play

Bluetooth covers the everyday case of streaming from a phone. The TF card slot is the thoughtful extra: load a card with music and the speaker plays independently, saving your phone battery and working happily where there is no signal – on a flight, at a picnic, or in a hostel room. The AUX input closes the loop for laptops, older players and in-flight entertainment screens. Combined with the 19-hour battery, the MP120 is built to keep playing in situations where other speakers have already gone quiet or gone home.

For travellers, students and desk workers who want one small speaker that feels premium and lasts for days, the MP120 is an easy companion to justify and an easier one to carry.
