Bose SoundLink Max Portable Bluetooth Speaker (Citrus Yellow)

Bose SoundLink Max Portable Bluetooth Speaker (Citrus Yellow)

The Bose SoundLink Max in Citrus Yellow is the largest and most powerful portable Bluetooth speaker Bose makes, designed to fill big rooms, terraces, gardens and worksites with full-range sound smaller portables cannot reach. Behind its powder-coated, silicone-wrapped steel body sit three transducers and two passive radiators, delivering the deep bass weight Bose calls its biggest portable sound. It pairs that output with an IP67 waterproof build, up to 20 hours of battery life, a removable rope handle, a 3.5 mm AUX input and a USB-C port that can also charge your phone.

Key Features

• Bose’s largest portable speaker, with three transducers and two passive radiators for deep bass
• Up to 20 hours of play time per charge
• IP67 rated: waterproof, dustproof and resistant to rust, shocks and UV exposure
• Bluetooth 5.3 with Snapdragon Sound and aptX Adaptive, plus SBC and AAC
• USB-C charging with charge-out, so the speaker can top up a phone
• 3.5 mm AUX input for wired sources such as turntables, TVs and DJ controllers
• Removable rope handle, with an optional rope shoulder strap available separately
• Citrus Yellow finish with powder-coated silicone-wrapped steel enclosure

Sound That Fills Bigger Spaces

The driver system is arranged for genuine stereo separation with low-end reinforcement from two passive radiators, so kick drums and basslines carry outdoors where they would normally thin out. Bose Active EQ maintains tonal balance as volume changes, keeping vocals clear at background levels and stopping the sound hardening when pushed at a party. The Bose app adds adjustable bass, midrange and treble, so you can add weight for an open terrace or trim the bass indoors.

Bluetooth, Codecs and Connections

Bluetooth 5.3 gives a range of around nine metres and remembers up to eight paired devices, so regular phones and tablets reconnect without fuss. Snapdragon Sound with aptX Adaptive improves quality and latency from compatible Android phones, while SBC and AAC cover everything else, and Google Fast Pair speeds up Android setup. The 3.5 mm AUX input keeps wired sources in play, from older players to a TV or mixer, and a customisable shortcut button can be assigned to AUX or Spotify Tap in the app.

Battery, Charging and Power Sharing

The built-in battery runs for up to 20 hours at typical levels and recharges over USB-C in about five hours. The same port works in both directions, so the speaker doubles as an emergency power bank: connect a phone by USB-C and it shares its charge so the music source does not die mid-evening. Battery level can be checked in the Bose app.

Built for Outdoors and Group Listening

IP67 sealing shrugs off pool splashes, rain, sand and dust, and the silicone-wrapped, powder-coated body resists knocks, rust and scratches while gripping surfaces instead of sliding. At about 2.13 kg it is substantial rather than pocketable, but the rope handle makes it easy to carry between rooms, the garden or a site cabin, and can be swapped for an optional shoulder strap. SimpleSync pairs it with compatible Bose soundbars and smart speakers at home, so the unit that handled a terrace gathering can join the TV setup indoors.

In Citrus Yellow, the SoundLink Max suits hosts, outdoor listeners and work crews who need one rugged speaker with party-level output, all-day battery life and the toughness to live outside.
