JBL Xtreme 3 Portable Speaker

JBL Xtreme 3 Portable Bluetooth Speaker — IP67 Waterproof, 15 Hours Playtime, Built-in Powerbank

The JBL Xtreme 3 is a large portable Bluetooth speaker built for outdoor use. Four active drivers and two passive bass radiators produce the sound, IP67 sealing keeps dust and water out, and the built-in battery runs for up to 15 hours — and doubles as a powerbank for your phone. A shoulder strap is included, so it travels easily to the pool, the park or the terrace.

Key features

• Four drivers: two 70 mm woofers and two 20 mm tweeters, plus dual JBL Bass Radiators
• 2 x 25 W RMS woofer + 2 x 25 W RMS tweeter output (AC power mode)
• IP67 waterproof and dustproof — submersible in 1 m of water for 30 minutes
• Up to 15 hours of playtime, with a built-in powerbank that charges phones over USB
• PartyBoost pairs two compatible speakers for stereo or links many JBL speakers together
• Bluetooth 5.1 with two devices connected at once, plus a 3.5 mm aux input

Sound that carries outdoors

Outdoor listening is unforgiving: there are no walls to help the bass along, and background noise eats detail. The Xtreme 3 answers with two 70 mm woofers, two 20 mm tweeters and passive radiators at both ends of the cabinet, tuned for the JBL Original Pro Sound signature — weighty low end, clear vocals and enough volume to cover a garden gathering without straining. The quoted output figures apply in AC power mode, where the amplifiers run at full rated power.

Built for weather and rough handling

With IP67 sealing, the Xtreme 3 shrugs off dust, rain and accidental dips. The fabric-and-rubber housing is made to be carried around rather than kept on a shelf, and the included strap, with its built-in bottle opener, makes it easy to sling over a shoulder and move. One practical note: after the speaker has been in water, let it dry fully before charging.

Battery and powerbank

The 36.3 Wh lithium-ion polymer battery (equivalent to 5000 mAh) plays for up to 15 hours depending on volume level and content, and refills in about 4 hours. When your phone runs low, the speaker works as a powerbank: the USB-A port delivers up to 5 V / 2 A and the USB-C port up to 5 V / 1.5 A, with 2.5 A available across both ports in total.

PartyBoost and connections

PartyBoost lets you pair two PartyBoost-compatible JBL speakers for genuine stereo, or link a whole group of them so one playlist covers a bigger space. Bluetooth 5.1 keeps two phones or tablets connected at once for taking turns with the playlist, a 3.5 mm aux input covers wired sources, and the JBL Portable app handles pairing, settings and firmware updates.

Everyday use

Two phones or tablets can stay connected at the same time, so switching between a laptop playlist and a friend’s phone takes seconds rather than a re-pairing routine. An LED strip on the speaker shows the remaining battery level at a glance, and the USB-C charging follows the USB Power Delivery range (5 V to 20 V), so a modern laptop-class adapter can refill it. At just under 2 kg it is big enough to fill a room or a garden, yet still light enough to carry one-handed by its strap.

If you need one speaker that rotates between home listening, terrace evenings and poolside duty without any fuss, the Xtreme 3 is built for exactly that.
