Marshall Acton III Bluetooth Speaker (Cream)

Marshall Acton III Bluetooth Speaker (Cream)

The Marshall Acton III is the smallest speaker in Marshall’s third-generation home line, built for bookshelves, kitchen counters and desks where a full hi-fi stack will not fit. Inside the cream vinyl cabinet, one 30-watt Class D amplifier drives the woofer and two separate 15-watt Class D amplifiers drive the tweeters, for 60 watts of total output. That tri-amped design, combined with tweeters angled outwards, produces a wider stereo soundstage than most single-box speakers of this size.

Bluetooth 5.2 handles wireless playback from phones, tablets and laptops at up to 10 metres, and the speaker is ready for Bluetooth LE Audio as that standard rolls out. A 3.5 mm input covers wired sources such as turntables with a line output or older players. The top panel keeps the classic Marshall layout: brass-style analogue knobs for volume, bass and treble, a source button, play and pause, a skip control and a toggle power switch, so everyday control never requires opening an app.

Sound Tuning That Adapts to the Room

Two features separate the Acton III from a basic Bluetooth box. Dynamic Loudness adjusts the tonal balance automatically as you change volume, so music keeps its body at low listening levels and does not harden when turned up. Placement Compensation corrects for how nearby walls and surfaces affect the sound: a speaker pushed into a corner or onto a shelf against a wall gets extra bass reinforcement from the room, and the compensation offsets that so playback stays balanced. Both can be managed in the Marshall Bluetooth app, which also delivers over-the-air firmware updates.

Build and Everyday Use

The Acton III keeps Marshall’s amplifier-inspired design: textured vinyl wrap, fret grille cloth and the script logo, here finished in cream. The build is PVC-free and uses 70 percent recycled plastic along with vegan materials. It is a mains-powered speaker (100 to 240 V), so it stays in one place and is always ready, with no battery to manage. At 95 dB maximum output it fills bedrooms, kitchens and small living rooms comfortably, and the analogue bass and treble controls let you trim the sound for the room in seconds.
