Yamaha Stagepas 1K PA System – All-in-One Portable PA System

Yamaha Stagepas 1K Portable PA System

The Yamaha Stagepas 1K is an all-in-one portable PA system that combines a 12-inch powered subwoofer, a slim line array of ten 1.5-inch drivers, a five-channel digital mixer and 1,000 watts of Class-D amplification in a system one person can transport and set up. The array and spacers pack into the subwoofer unit for carrying, a fitted cover is included, and the total weight is 23 kg.

Key features

• 1,000 W Class-D power: 810 W to the subwoofer and 190 W to the array
• 12-inch subwoofer with a ten-driver 1.5-inch line array
• 119 dB maximum SPL with 170 x 30 degree coverage
• Five-channel digital mixer with three mono mic/line inputs
• SPX digital reverb with four types on the microphone channels
• One-knob EQ per channel and Speech, Music and Club master modes
• Bluetooth audio streaming for backing tracks and break music
• STAGEPAS Editor app control and link connections for a second system

Why a line array covers a room evenly

A conventional speaker on a stand radiates in a cone that is loud at the front and weak at the back. The Stagepas 1K stacks ten small drivers vertically in a J-curve array, spreading sound across 170 degrees horizontally while keeping vertical dispersion to a controlled 30 degrees. In practice the audience hears a more even level from front to back, with less energy wasted on the ceiling and floor, and the slim column keeps sight lines open in cafés, places of worship, classrooms and function rooms where a large speaker cabinet would dominate the space.

Mixer, effects and simple control

The built-in mixer provides five channels: three mono mic/line inputs on XLR and jack combo sockets, with Hi-Z switching on channels 2 and 3 for instruments, plus a stereo line input. Each channel has a one-knob EQ that sweeps from a speech-focused contour to a music contour, so a usable sound can be dialled in seconds without sound-engineering experience. Yamaha’s SPX reverb offers hall, plate, room and echo settings on the mic channels, a reverb footswitch input is provided, and the master section adds one-knob compression modes for speech, music and club use. The STAGEPAS Editor app allows remote adjustment and saving of settings.

Sound, linking and expansion

System frequency response runs from 37 Hz to 20 kHz at the minus 10 dB points, with the crossover at 240 Hz between subwoofer and array, and maximum output reaches 119 dB. Link in and out connections let two Stagepas 1K systems run together for stereo coverage or a larger audience, and a monitor output feeds a separate speaker where a performer needs a dedicated foldback. Bluetooth streaming covers backing tracks, interval music and presentations from a phone without extra cabling.

Portability and setup height

The array height can be set with the supplied spacers, so the drivers can be placed at audience ear level whether the system stands on the floor or on a stage; maximum assembled height is 2,000 mm. The subwoofer itself measures 334 x 550 x 418 mm and weighs 20 kg, with the array at 1.8 kg. A dedicated dolly is available as an optional accessory. Setup is a matter of stacking the column, connecting power and plugging in microphones or instruments.

The Stagepas 1K suits singer-songwriters, duos, presenters, fitness and dance instructors, schools and venues that need clear, even sound for speech and music without a separate mixer, amplifier and speaker stacks to transport and wire.
