The Devialet Dione in black is a 5.1.2 Dolby Atmos soundbar delivering cinematic immersion and deep bass from a single elegant bar — no subwoofer required.
The Devialet Dione is Devialet’s all-in-one Dolby Atmos soundbar, applying the company’s Phantom acoustic engineering to home cinema. Seventeen custom neodymium drivers — nine full-range aluminium units and eight long-throw aluminium subwoofers — are powered by 950 watts RMS in a 5.1.2-channel configuration, reaching 101 dB SPL with a frequency response of 24 Hz to 21 kHz. No separate subwoofer is required or offered: the bass is built in. This listing is the Matte Black finish (listed as Black).
Key features
5.1.2-channel Dolby Atmos soundbar
17 drivers: 9 full-range plus 8 built-in subwoofers
950 W RMS total amplification
Frequency response 24 Hz to 21 kHz
ORB central sphere adapts to shelf or wall mounting
SPACE technology upmixes stereo to 5.1.2
HDMI eARC, optical, AirPlay 2 and Spotify Connect
The ORB centre channel
The sphere at the centre of the bar is the Dione’s signature: the ORB houses the centre channel and physically rotates to face the listeners whether the bar lies on furniture or hangs on the wall, keeping dialogue aimed correctly in both positions. A gyroscope detects the orientation and the Devialet Intelligence Processor reassigns the driver layout — the drivers that fired forward on a shelf fire upward on a wall — so the 5.1.2 geometry holds in either mounting.
Devialet technologies inside
SPACE processing upscales stereo and 5.1 sources into the full 5.1.2 soundfield; ADE (Advanced Dimensional Experience) shapes the spatial rendering; AVL (Adaptive Volume Level) evens out the level jumps between content and advertisements in real time; and SAM processing drives the eight internal subwoofers to their 24 Hz extension without distortion. Amplification uses the company’s ADH hybrid architecture.
Connections and streaming
A single HDMI eARC connection to the television is the primary installation, with an optical Toslink alternative. Music streams over dual-band Wi-Fi via AirPlay 2 and Spotify Connect, or Bluetooth 5.0, with UPnP for local network libraries and gigabit Ethernet for a wired connection. There is no voice assistant and no remote in the box — control is via the Devialet app and the television remote over CEC.
Dimensions and design
The bar measures 1200 x 77 x 165 mm (88 mm high including the ORB) and weighs 12 kg, with an anodised aluminium core wrapped in black acoustic fabric. Wall-mount accessories are included, as are HDMI and optical cables.
Position among soundbars
The Dione’s proposition is that a single bar, engineered without a cost ceiling, can replace the soundbar-plus-subwoofer combination entirely — the eight internal subwoofers and SAM processing are how it reaches a genuine 24 Hz without a separate box on the floor. It won the EISA Best High-End Soundbar award for 2022-23 on that basis. Buyers who later want more can still place the Dione at the centre of a Devialet multiroom system via AirPlay 2.
