Denon AVR-S670H + ELAC Cinema 12 5.1 Home Theatre Package

Denon AVR-S670H ELAC Cinema 12 5.1 Home Theatre Package

The Denon AVR-S670H ELAC Cinema 12 5.1 Home Theatre Package is a complete surround sound system that pairs ELAC’s compact Cinema 12 speaker set with the Denon AVR-S670H 5.2-channel 8K AV receiver. Four BS3-1010 satellites, the CS3-1010 centre and the 10-inch SUB AJ 1020 subwoofer cover every channel with ELAC’s measured, even-handed sound, while the Denon receiver drives them, switches six HDMI sources, calibrates the room with Audyssey and streams music over HEOS, Bluetooth and AirPlay 2. It is a finished home cinema in one purchase, with no separate receiver hunt and no matching guesswork.

Why Choose the Denon AVR-S670H ELAC Cinema 12 5.1 Home Theatre Package?

ELAC’s Cinema 12 set is built the way good small speakers should be: a 1-inch soft dome tweeter and a 3.5-inch polypropylene woofer in a braced MDF cabinet, crossed over at 2500 Hz, with the centre using dual woofers for the dialogue channel that carries a film. Because all five speakers share the same tweeter and woofer character, sound stays consistent as it moves around the room. The SUB AJ 1020 adds a 10-inch long-throw driver with a 120 W Class AB amplifier for the low frequencies small satellites cannot reproduce. The Denon AVR-S670H, at 75 watts per channel into 8 ohms, drives the 8-ohm, 86 dB ELAC speakers comfortably in small to medium rooms, and its Audyssey MultEQ calibration tunes the whole system to the room rather than leaving levels and distances to guesswork.

Key Features

• Matched ELAC 5.1 speaker set: Four BS3-1010 satellites (1-inch soft dome + 3.5-inch woofer, 95 Hz – 20 kHz, 86 dB, 80 W max) plus the CS3-1010 centre with dual 3.5-inch woofers and 100 W max, all in braced CARB2 MDF cabinets.
• 10-inch powered subwoofer: ELAC SUB AJ 1020 with a 10-inch long-throw driver, 120 W Class AB amplifier (60 W RMS), rear port, crossover 40 – 150 Hz and phase 0 – 180 degrees for clean integration.
• Denon AVR-S670H 8K receiver: 5.2 channels at 75 watts per channel into 8 ohms, six HDMI inputs (three full 8K) with 8K/60 and 4K/120 pass-through, eARC, HDCP 2.3, VRR and ALLM for gaming.
• Audyssey MultEQ calibration: Measures the room and corrects levels, distances and frequency response automatically, with Dynamic EQ and Dynamic Volume for late-night listening.
• HEOS multi-room streaming: Wi-Fi, Bluetooth (including headphone transmission), AirPlay 2, Spotify Connect, TIDAL, Deezer, Amazon Music and TuneIn built in, plus a phono input for a turntable.
• Compact, room-friendly size: Satellites under 8 inches tall, so the set fits on shelves and stands beside a television without dominating the room.

Best Suited For

The Denon AVR-S670H ELAC Cinema 12 5.1 Home Theatre Package suits living rooms, bedrooms and small media rooms where a full-size tower system is too large but TV speakers or a soundbar are not enough. It fits first-time home theatre buyers who want a finished system, apartment owners who need big sound from compact boxes, and anyone upgrading from a soundbar to true discrete surround sound with a proper AV receiver, streaming and gaming support at the centre.

Setup and Connection Guide

Place two satellites as front left and right flanking the screen at ear level, the centre directly below or above the television, and two satellites as surrounds to the sides of or slightly behind the seating. Place the subwoofer on the floor near the front of the room. Connect all five speakers to the matching Denon speaker terminals, connect the subwoofer to either Denon subwoofer pre-out with an RCA cable, and connect sources to the HDMI inputs with the HDMI output to the television’s eARC port. Run Audyssey MultEQ with the supplied microphone, set the subwoofer crossover between 80 and 120 Hz, and choose 0 or 180 degrees phase for the fullest bass at the listening seat.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to buy anything else to get this system running?

No. The package contains the receiver, all five speakers and the subwoofer. You only need speaker cable, an HDMI cable to the television and a source such as a set-top box, console or streaming device.

Can I add a second subwoofer later?

Yes. The Denon AVR-S670H provides two subwoofer pre-outs, so a second powered subwoofer can be added later for more even bass across larger rooms, taking the system from 5.1 to 5.2.

Is this package suitable for music as well as movies?

Yes. The matched ELAC speakers and the Denon’s stereo modes suit music listening, and HEOS, Bluetooth and AirPlay 2 cover streaming from a phone, while the full 5.1 layout is there for films.
