Voices, dialogue and the body of most instruments sit exactly in this band, so a driver that is not simultaneously being asked to move large amounts of air for bass stays more composed. The W2M needs a cut-out of 527 x 198 mm and a mounting depth of just 85 mm, so it fits within standard stud-wall cavities. With the grille fitted it measures 560 x 231 x 90 mm and presents as a slim, paintable panel that sits almost flush with the wall. The Quik-Link terminal can be wired on the ground and simply plugged into the speaker once it is offered up to the opening, and Tri-Grip II clamps then draw it tight. A pre-construction bracket, the WM-B, is specified for builds where the openings are prepared before the plasterboard stage. Each unit weighs 3.9 kg, light enough for a single installer to position accurately.

System building and amplifier matching

With a nominal impedance of 6 ohms and sensitivity of 87 dB, the W2M suits the better end of AV receivers and dedicated stereo or multi-room amplifiers in the 45 to 180 W range.
