Pioneer Xdj – Rr

Pioneer XDJ – RR

The Pioneer DJ XDJ-RR is a 2-channel all-in-one DJ system built around rekordbox, designed as the step between bedroom practice and the club booth. Its layout mirrors the professional NXS2 setup – two decks, a two-channel mixer and a large central screen – so the skills you build on it transfer directly to club-standard players and mixers. Plug in a USB drive loaded with rekordbox-analysed music and play standalone, or connect a laptop and perform with rekordbox in Performance mode.

A 7-inch full-colour touchscreen shows waveforms for both decks plus track information, keeping your eyes on the unit rather than a laptop. At 5.2 kg it is light enough to carry to house parties, bars and small venues, yet the mixer section borrows its EQ and fader curves from the flagship DJM-900NXS2.

• Two USB-A ports plus set recording straight to USB
• Lightweight 5.2 kg body for portable setups

Club Layout, Home Size

Everything about the XDJ-RR’s control layout is deliberately familiar: the jog wheels, tempo sliders, pad placement and mixer ergonomics follow the same design language as Pioneer’s club-standard CDJ and DJM gear. Practising at home on the XDJ-RR builds muscle memory that carries over when you step up to a full NXS2 rig. Beat Sync and Quantize keep loops and cues locked to the grid while you learn, and the dual waveforms on the central screen make beat alignment visual as well as audible.

Connections for Real Gigs

The XDJ-RR outputs on both balanced XLR (Master 1) and RCA (Master 2), so it connects cleanly to club and PA systems as well as home speakers. A combo XLR / 1/4-inch microphone input with 2-band EQ and talkover handles MC duties, and an RCA AUX input lets you patch in a phone or spare player. The second USB-A port accepts a backup drive or records your set for later review. Full technical data is in the specifications below.
