Marley Stir It Up Turntable

Marley Stir It Up Turntable – Bamboo Belt-Drive Turntable with Bluetooth and USB

The House of Marley Stir It Up is a belt-drive turntable built around a solid bamboo plinth, a factory-fitted Audio-Technica cartridge and a switchable built-in phono preamp. This is the wireless version of the deck: a Bluetooth transmitter streams your records to a Bluetooth speaker or headphones, RCA outputs cover a wired amplifier or powered speakers, and a USB connection lets you copy vinyl to a computer. It plays 33-1/3 and 45 RPM records, with auto start and stop to protect the record at the end of a side.

Key features

• Belt-drive deck with electronic speed selection for 33-1/3 and 45 RPM records
• Auto start/stop: the platter starts when you cue the arm and stops at the end of the record
• Audio-Technica AT3600L moving magnet cartridge fitted, with a replaceable ATN3600L stylus
• Built-in phono preamp with a phono/line switch, connecting to almost any amplifier or powered speaker
• Bluetooth 4.2 output for wireless playback through Bluetooth speakers and headphones
• USB Type-B output and cable for recording vinyl to a PC or Mac
• Straight aluminium tonearm with adjustable counterweight and anti-skate, and a Bob Marley quote etched along its length
• 3.5 mm headphone jack on the front panel for private listening
• Solid bamboo plinth, recyclable aluminium platter and REGRIND silicone slip mat
• REWIND fabric dust cover included, made from recycled and natural fibres

Design and build

The bamboo plinth gives the Stir It Up a warm, furniture-like finish that looks at home on a sideboard rather than in a rack. The aluminium platter is topped with the REGRIND silicone mat, which grips the record and damps vibration. The cartridge is pre-mounted, so setup is mainly balancing the arm, setting tracking weight and anti-skate to the recommended 2.5 setting, and fitting the belt. Shock-absorbing feet help isolate the deck from its surface.

Sound and playback

The AT3600L is a well-proven budget moving magnet cartridge with a lively, forgiving character that suits a first or returning vinyl system. The built-in preamp keeps the signal chain short: switch it on for a line-level input, or off to use a dedicated phono stage if your system grows. Rated signal-to-noise of 50 dB and wow and flutter below 0.3 percent are honest figures for this class, and playback stays stable across both speeds.

Connectivity and controls

Three output paths cover most rooms. RCA gives a wired connection, with a dual RCA to 3.5 mm cable included for AUX inputs. Bluetooth pairing is handled from a button on the deck and sends the record straight to a wireless speaker. USB connects to a computer for digitising a collection using your own recording software. Controls stay simple: a speed selector, the start/stop dial, the cueing lever and the headphone socket.

Who it suits

The Stir It Up suits listeners who want vinyl without a separate component chain: one box, powered or Bluetooth speakers, and a record collection. It doubles as a digitising deck for archiving albums, and its materials make it a deliberate piece of the room. Balance the arm once, and it is ready for daily listening, wired or wireless.
