Devialet Gecko Phantom II Wall Mount

Devialet Gecko Phantom II Wall Mount

The Devialet Gecko is the dedicated wall mount for the Phantom II, the compact Devialet speaker originally launched as the Phantom Reactor. A Phantom II is a dense, powerful object for its size, with side-firing woofers that move a great deal of air and a sealed cabinet designed to be held exactly as its maker intended. The Gecko is engineered around that reality: rather than a universal bracket adapted with spacers and guesswork, it is a purpose-made cast mount whose cradle follows the Phantom II’s form, holds it securely against the wall and leaves its drivers and controls unobstructed so the speaker works as designed, only higher, cleaner and out of the way.

Devialet makes Gecko mounts matched to each Phantom family, and this version is the Phantom II model. Compatibility matters with a speaker of this weight and output, so the Gecko for Phantom II should not be confused with the larger Phantom I mount: each is shaped and rated for its own speaker.

Key features

• Made for Phantom II: Purpose-built wall mount for the Devialet Phantom II (formerly Phantom Reactor), shaped precisely for that speaker’s cabinet.
• Cast aluminium construction: White powder-coated aluminium cast with a matte finish, in keeping with Devialet’s published Gecko design.
• Horizontal adjustment: The mounted speaker can be adjusted horizontally by up to 45 degrees in either direction to aim the sound at the listening position.
• Secure, stable hold: Engineered for precision, stability and resistance, holding a heavy powered speaker firmly through the vibration its bass output produces.
• Clean installed appearance: The speaker sits close against the wall in a low-profile cradle, so the finished installation looks intentional rather than bracketed on.
• Frees surfaces: Moves the Phantom II off shelves, sideboards and desks, clearing the furniture surface and removing a tempting object from reach and spill range.

Why wall-mount a Phantom II

Placement is half of what a Phantom II delivers. On a low sideboard it can sit below ear height, couple its energy into the furniture and lose its carefully shaped dispersion to nearby objects. On a Gecko, the speaker can be positioned at a considered height, aimed with the mount’s horizontal adjustment, and given clear space around its side woofers. In a stereo pair, two Gecko mounts allow symmetrical placement either side of a screen or across a room, at matched heights that a pair of shelves rarely offers. In commercial spaces — showrooms, restaurants, galleries and hotel rooms — wall mounting also answers practical questions: the speaker is visible, audible everywhere and physically out of the traffic of the room.

Installation and finish

Devialet describes Gecko setup as a matter of selecting the right wall height and then adjusting the speaker horizontally with precision once it is mounted. The fixing itself is into the wall structure with appropriate fixings for the wall type, and because a Phantom II still needs mains power, the cable run should be planned with the position, so the finished installation keeps the wiring as discreet as the mount. The matte white powder-coated finish matches the Phantom II’s own design language, and the low-profile form keeps visual attention on the speaker rather than the hardware supporting it.

Where the Gecko earns its place

Living rooms where a television wall needs sound at screen height, bedrooms and kitchens where surface space is short, studios that want a Phantom II fixed at a repeatable position, and hospitality or retail spaces that need the speaker secure and permanently placed all benefit from the dedicated mount. It is also the tidy answer for households where a heavy, valuable speaker sitting loose on furniture is simply a risk to be designed out.

The Gecko does one job and does it with the same over-engineering Devialet applies to its speakers: a cast, precisely fitted, adjustable mount that turns a Phantom II into a finished wall installation. For a wall-mounted Phantom II, it is the mount the speaker was designed around.
