The Dyson Airstrait HT01 straightens hair with focused airflow instead of hot plates. Two 1.5mm apertures project high-velocity blades of air downwards at a 45-degree angle, where they converge into a single focused jet that dries and straightens at the same time. A Dyson Hyperdymium motor drives the airflow: a 13-blade impeller spins up to 106,000 rpm, propelling 11.9 litres of air through the machine per second and generating up to 3.6 kPa of air pressure. Wet mode: dry and straighten in one step

Start with towel-dried hair. In Wet mode, choose 80°C, 100°C or 115°C depending on your hair type, then work through sections from root to tip until each one is dry and straight. Because drying and styling happen in the same pass, the usual two-tool routine – dryer first, straightener second – collapses into one, and the hair spends less time under heat overall. Lock the arms together first if you want to pre-dry the roots and create volume before sectioning.

Dry mode and finishing
