The Denon PMA-600NE is a two-channel integrated amplifier designed as the heart of an affordable separates hi-fi system — and unusually complete for its class. Its Advanced High Current (AHC) single push-pull amplifier delivers 45 W per channel into 8 ohms across the full audio band (70 W into 4 ohms), and around it Denon fits a 192 kHz/24-bit DAC with two optical and one coaxial input, Bluetooth streaming, and a moving-magnet phono stage for turntables.

Purist touches run through the design: an Analog Mode that switches off the digital circuitry (Bluetooth included) for cleaner analogue playback, a Source Direct path bypassing tone controls, a micro-processor Stop Mode that halts the control clock during listening to keep digital noise out of the audio signal, and Denon’s Signal Level Divided Construction (SLDC) chassis.

Analog Mode and the Micro-Processor Stop Mode

Digital circuits are convenient and noisy — clock signals from processors and wireless modules can leak into delicate analogue stages. The PMA-600NE attacks this twice. Analog Mode shuts down the digital sections entirely, Bluetooth included, when you listen to vinyl or CD. The micro-processor Stop Mode goes further: when the processor isn’t needed during playback, its clock oscillation ceases, removing a source of high-frequency noise from inside the chassis. Together with the SLDC chassis layout, which keeps signal levels in divided, orderly paths, the result is a quieter background against which low-level detail survives.

One Box for Vinyl, TV and Streaming

A turntable connects directly to the MM phono stage; a television feeds the optical input for far better sound than TV speakers; a CD player or streamer uses the line or digital inputs; and Bluetooth covers casual listening from a phone. A subwoofer pre-out lets you add low-end reinforcement later — the growth path of a real system, without replacing the amplifier.
