The Elipson CONNECT 250 is a compact streaming amplifier that turns any pair of passive speakers into a modern multiroom system, and the Elipson CONNECT 250 does it from a box barely larger than a paperback. It streams music over Wi-Fi, Ethernet and Bluetooth, drives speakers with a clean Class D amplifier, and hides away on a wall or under a false ceiling, so the technology disappears and only the music remains. For rooms where a full-size hi-fi amplifier would be intrusive, the Elipson CONNECT 250 is the discreet answer.
Why Choose Elipson CONNECT 250?
Good speakers are often let down by the box that drives them, and the Elipson CONNECT 250 solves that with a combination that is rare at this size: real amplifier power, proper streaming and multiroom in one unit. It delivers 2 by 30 watts into 8 ohms and 2 by 50 watts into 4 ohms, enough for compact and in-ceiling speakers, and it streams at 24-bit and 44.1 kHz resolution, so streamed music keeps its detail. Because the Elipson CONNECT 250 works with the other products in the Elipson Connect range, one room can grow into a whole-house system of up to 10 rooms, each playing the same music or something different, all controlled from the Elipson app.
Key Features
Compact Class D amplification: 2 by 30 watts into 8 ohms and 2 by 50 watts into 4 ohms from the Elipson CONNECT 250, with a 102 dB signal-to-noise ratio.
Wi-Fi, Ethernet and Bluetooth streaming: Stream over 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi or a wired Ethernet connection, or connect directly with Bluetooth 5.0.
Multiroom up to 10 rooms: The Elipson CONNECT 250 joins other Elipson Connect products for synchronised whole-home audio, with rooms named and controlled in the app.
Streaming services built in: Play Spotify, Deezer, Qobuz and Tidal, plus stored music files, at up to 24-bit and 44.1 kHz.
Flexible installation: Wall mounting brackets are included, the unit fits under a false ceiling, and a remote infrared receiver covers installations where the box itself is out of sight.
AUX in and out: A 3.5 mm auxiliary input and output connect a television, a turntable preamplifier or another source that has no wireless connection.
Best Suited For
The amplifier suits living rooms and bedrooms with a pair of passive bookshelf or in-ceiling speakers, kitchens and bathrooms where a discreet amplifier is essential, and installers building multiroom systems in homes, cafés and small commercial spaces. Its protected connections suit damp rooms, and its small size suits retrofits where running new cables to a central rack is impractical. It is not a replacement for a large high-power amplifier driving demanding floorstanding speakers, but for compact speakers and background-to-foreground listening it is exactly the right scale.
Setup and Connection Guide
Mount the amplifier on the wall with the supplied brackets, or place it under a false ceiling or inside furniture, keeping ventilation around the metal chassis. Connect the speakers to the amplifier outputs, plug in the 24 V power supply, and connect to the network over Ethernet or Wi-Fi using the Elipson app. Pair a phone over Bluetooth for quick playback, or sign into a streaming service in the app for multiroom control. If the unit is hidden, position the supplied infrared receiver where the remote can see it, then test volume, balance and room grouping before closing up the installation.
Frequently Asked Questions
What speakers can the amplifier drive?
The amplifier drives passive speakers at 2 by 30 watts into 8 ohms or 2 by 50 watts into 4 ohms, which suits compact bookshelf speakers and in-ceiling speakers. Very large or low-sensitivity floorstanding speakers in big rooms will want a more powerful amplifier.
Can the amplifier play different music in different rooms?
Yes. With other Elipson Connect products, the amplifier supports multiroom audio for up to 10 rooms, and each room can play its own source or join a group playing the same music.
Does the amplifier work without Wi-Fi?
Yes. The amplifier also works over a wired Ethernet connection and over Bluetooth 5.0, and its 3.5 mm auxiliary input accepts any wired analogue source.
