Why Choose Focusrite SCARLETT 2i2 3rd Gen USB Audio Interface?
Two preamps are enough for a vocal and a guitar, a stereo keyboard or a podcast with two microphones. The 2i2 3rd Gen keeps the signal path simple and the price low, while the Air mode adds the presence that makes vocals sit forward in a mix.
Key Features
Two 3rd Gen preamps: two microphone preamps with 56 dB of gain and single Air mode.
2-in/2-out over USB-C: bus-powered USB-C connection for Mac, Windows and iPad.
24-bit/192 kHz conversion: high-resolution conversion with around -128 dB(A) EIN.
Direct monitoring: low-latency direct monitoring for recording without delay.
Headphone output: a front-panel headphone output with independent level control.
Best Suited For
Songwriters, podcasters and home studios recording one or two sources at a time. That is the buyer the Focusrite SCARLETT 2i2 3rd Gen USB Audio Interface is built for.
Setup and Connection Guide
Connect over USB-C, install the driver and Focusrite Control, plug a microphone into input 1 and an instrument into input 2, enable Air for vocals if wanted, and monitor on headphones or speakers. Once connected, the Focusrite SCARLETT 2i2 3rd Gen USB Audio Interface is ready for its first session.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the Focusrite SCARLETT 2i2 3rd Gen USB Audio Interface the same as the 4th Gen 2i2?
No. The 4th Gen adds 69 dB preamps, dual Air modes, Auto Gain, Clip Safe and a 120 dB dynamic range; this 3rd Gen model has 56 dB preamps and a single Air mode.
Is it bus-powered?
Yes. It runs over USB-C bus power with no separate power supply.
Can it record a microphone and a guitar at once?
Yes. Input 1 takes a microphone and input 2 takes a line or Hi-Z instrument source simultaneously.
