Why Choose Focusrite SCARLETT 4i4 4th Gen USB Audio Interface?
The 4i4 4th Gen is the sweet spot of the desktop range. It records as well as the 2i2 4th Gen, routes like a small studio hub, and still runs from USB-C, so it suits both a bedroom studio and a portable rig.
Key Features
Two 4th Gen preamps: two ultra-low-noise preamps with 69 dB of gain and dual Air modes.
Auto Gain and Clip Safe: automatic level setting and clipping protection.
4-in/4-out routing: two preamps plus two line inputs, four line outputs.
MIDI I/O: 5-pin MIDI in and out for keyboards and controllers.
Loopback: loopback for streaming, sampling and podcast routing.
120 dB converters: RedNet-derived conversion for professional recordings.
Best Suited For
Home and project studios with synths, outboard or two monitor pairs, and creators who stream or podcast with loopback routing. That is the buyer the Focusrite SCARLETT 4i4 4th Gen USB Audio Interface is built for.
Setup and Connection Guide
Connect over USB-C with the supplied power adapter if the host cannot supply 1.5 A, install Focusrite Control 2, use Auto Gain on the preamps, connect monitors to the line outputs and MIDI devices to the 5-pin ports. Once connected, the Focusrite SCARLETT 4i4 4th Gen USB Audio Interface is ready for its first session.

No. The 4i4 4th Gen has no ADAT or S/PDIF; digital expansion starts at the 16i16.
