The QSC TouchMix-16 Digital Mixer is a compact touchscreen digital mixer that packs the capability of a large-format console into a portable, fully self-contained unit. It offers 22 mixing channels — 16 mic/line, 4 line and stereo USB — with 12 outputs, 10 aux mixes, four internal effects processors and 20-channel direct-to-drive multitrack recording. The QSC TouchMix-16 Digital Mixer needs no external computer or display: its colour capacitive touchscreen, large rotary encoder and hardware buttons give complete control, and the free control app for iOS and Android devices mirrors every function over Wi-Fi for mixing from anywhere in the room.
Why Choose QSC TouchMix-16 Digital Mixer?
Live engineers choose the QSC TouchMix-16 Digital Mixer because it removes the usual compromise between size and control. Class-A microphone preamps and 4-band fully parametric EQ with variable high- and low-pass filters on every input channel give each source proper treatment, while comprehensive dynamics, graphic EQ and delay on the outputs keep the room and monitors under control. Setup is fast: 120 factory presets cover common instruments and microphones, Anti-Feedback and Room Tuning wizards help tame difficult rooms, and a real-time analyser shows what is actually happening in the mix. The QSC TouchMix-16 Digital Mixer also records the show, capturing up to 22 tracks direct to an external drive without a laptop, and plays back MP3 files from USB for walk-in music and breaks.
Key Features
22 mixing channels: 16 mic/line, 4 line and stereo USB inputs with 12 outputs.
10 aux mixes: ample monitor mixes, with aux outputs that drive wired in-ear monitors.
Touch-and-turn control: a colour capacitive touchscreen plus a large master encoder and hardware buttons.
Full channel processing: 4-band parametric EQ, dynamics and filters on every input channel.
4 effects processors: internal professional digital effects fed by four mix busses.
22-track USB recording: multitrack record and playback direct to an external drive, plus MP3 playback.
Best Suited For
The QSC TouchMix-16 Digital Mixer suits bands, houses of worship, schools, theatres, event companies and venues that need a professional live mix without a large console footprint. It fits front-of-house and monitor duties, corporate events, weddings and conference audio, and doubles as a recording tool for rehearsals and live sessions. It is designed for operators who want hands-on control: users who prefer to mix entirely from a laptop should check the app workflow, since the QSC TouchMix-16 Digital Mixer is built around its own touchscreen and the Wi-Fi app, not a computer DAW surface.
Setup and Connection Guide
Connect microphones to the XLR inputs, instruments and line sources to the combo and stereo TRS inputs, and the main PA to the main XLR outputs, with monitors on the aux outputs. Switch on phantom power per channel only for condenser microphones that need it, and use the touchscreen to select a factory preset for each input as a starting point. Set gains so signals peak healthily without clipping, build the main mix on the faders, then create monitor mixes on the aux sends. Save the finished setup as a user scene so the next show recalls it instantly, and connect the control app over the supplied USB Wi-Fi adapter when mixing away from the console is needed.
