QSC CP8 Compact Powered Loudspeaker

QSC CP8 Compact Powered Loudspeaker – 1000W Class-D power in a 9.5kg cabinet

The QSC CP8 is the smaller of QSC’s CP Series compact powered loudspeakers, built for users who need professional reinforcement in a box one person can carry under an arm. A 1000-watt peak Class-D amplifier drives an 8-inch low-frequency driver and a 1.4-inch high-frequency compression driver, producing up to 124dB peak SPL with the controlled 90-degree conical coverage that makes placement forgiving. Onboard DSP contour presets tune the speaker for its role — main PA, floor monitor, or with an external subwoofer — at the turn of a dial.

QSC built its reputation on amplifiers and the K Series loudspeakers; the CP8 distils that engineering for solo performers, DJs, schools, rental fleets and houses of worship that need reliable output without a separate amp rack or the weight of a 12-inch cabinet.

Small box, professional output

An 8-inch top box is often dismissed as a monitor or a fill, but the CP8’s output figures tell a different story: 124dB peak with genuine low-frequency extension to 53Hz covers coffee-house gigs, ceremonies, presentations and DJ monitoring outright, and pairs with a subwoofer for full dance-floor duty. The 90-degree conical pattern keeps coverage even in wide rooms and makes a single speaker per side a realistic setup for small venues.

DSP that replaces guesswork

The contour selector is the CP8’s practical core. Default gives a flat, honest balance; the speech contour prioritises intelligibility for presenters; the dance contour adds low-end weight; and the external-sub settings hand bass to a subwoofer cleanly. Mic boost on the first input means a microphone can plug straight in for announcements or a solo act with no mixer at all.

Carry it anywhere

At 9.5kg with a proper handle, the CP8 loads in one trip with stands and cables. It pole-mounts for PA use, lies back as a floor monitor, and accepts an optional yoke for permanent installation in cafés, gyms and places of worship. The finish shrugs off the scuffs that portable speakers collect.

If your work needs QSC-grade reliability and output in the smallest practical format — speeches today, a party tomorrow, a monitor wedge on Saturday — the CP8 is the professional answer that still fits in a car boot.
