Why three drivers in a slim tower
Splitting the work three ways lets each driver operate in the range it handles best. One 5.25-inch driver is dedicated to the midrange, where vocal clarity lives, while two more share the bass — doubling cone area for low frequencies without needing a wide cabinet. That is how the F5.2 reaches a genuine 42 Hz in a tower only 180mm wide, keeping the footprint closer to a bookshelf speaker on a stand than to a traditional large floorstander.
Amplifier matching and placement
Rated at 6 ohms nominal with 86 dB sensitivity (2.83V/1m), the F5.2 is an undemanding load that ELAC positions as easy to drive with virtually all AV receivers and amplifiers. The ports are rear-firing, so a little distance from the wall behind helps the bass stay even; start with 30–50 cm and adjust by ear. As a stereo pair it anchors a two-channel system, and as part of the Debut 2.0 family it also serves as the front left/right of a multichannel setup with matching centre and surround models.
