Description
BlueRigger 2RCA to 2RCA 15FT Stereo Audio Cable
The BlueRigger 2RCA to 2RCA cable is a stereo analogue interconnect with two RCA male plugs at each end, carrying the left and right channels of a line-level audio signal between two pieces of equipment. At 15 feet, roughly 4.6 metres, it is the length you choose when the source and the amplifier are not stacked together: a turntable or CD player across the room from the receiver, a streamer feeding an older integrated amplifier, or a subwoofer placed where the bass works best rather than where the rack happens to be. The plugs are gold-plated and colour-coded red and white, and the cable wears a braided outer jacket for everyday durability.
Key features
- Two RCA male plugs at each end for stereo left and right channels
- 15 foot length for across-the-room analogue connections
- Gold-plated connectors for reliable, corrosion-resistant contact
- Braided outer jacket for flexibility and wear resistance
- Colour-coded red and white plugs for quick channel identification
- Suitable for line-level sources, amplifiers and subwoofer line inputs
The everyday stereo interconnect
RCA remains the standard analogue connection on home audio equipment, and a 2RCA to 2RCA lead is the basic link between them. One pair of plugs takes the stereo output of a source component, the other pair lands on a line input of an amplifier, AV receiver or powered speakers. Because the signal is analogue and unbalanced, the cable itself is part of the signal path, which is why secure plug contact matters: a plug that grips the socket properly keeps both channels present and free of the crackle that comes from a loose connection being moved. The gold plating on the plugs resists the oxidation that builds up on base-metal contacts over time, so the connection stays consistent in a system that may not be unplugged for years.
Using the full 15 feet well
Fifteen feet gives freedom of placement, and a few habits keep long unbalanced runs quiet. Route the cable away from mains leads, power bricks and wall-wart supplies, and where it must cross a power cable, cross at a right angle rather than running alongside it. Leave gentle slack at both ends instead of pulling the cable straight and tight, which strains the sockets, and avoid sharp bends behind furniture. If you do hear a hum after installing any long RCA run, the usual causes are a plug not fully seated, a channel pair landed on the wrong input, or the cable running parallel and close to a noisy power supply, and each is quick to check before blaming the equipment.
Subwoofers and other single-channel uses
Although this is a stereo pair, either leg can serve a single-channel line-level job, such as the low-frequency effects feed from an AV receiver to a subwoofer line input, which is a common reason to need this much length: subwoofers usually sound best in a corner or along a wall, rarely right beside the receiver. The second leg simply stays coiled as a spare or serves a second subwoofer where the receiver provides two outputs. The same applies to connecting a DAC, a media player or a television audio output to analogue inputs that sit some distance away.
What this cable is, and is not
This is a passive analogue interconnect for line-level signals. It does not convert digital audio, so a source with only an optical or coaxial output still needs a digital-to-analogue converter ahead of it, and it does not include a phono stage, so a turntable without a built-in preamp needs an amplifier input marked phono or an external phono preamplifier between the deck and this cable. It is also not a speaker cable: it connects signals, not amplifier outputs to loudspeakers.
For a straightforward, generously long stereo link between analogue components, with plugs that seat firmly and channels you can identify at a glance, the BlueRigger 15FT 2RCA to 2RCA cable covers the job without adapters or extensions.
